cf moonroof???
last year i was perusing the ebay pages... and I saw something that just had me in awe...
it was a carbon fiber moonroof. I was in awe because it wasn't the cover... it was basically a replica of the moonroof but in carbon fiber... like a carbon fiber hood.
I wanted it sooo freakin bad... but i thought 250 w/o shipping was too much...
and i didnt have the ends.
anyways since it was ebay... i thought that i would be able to find it again.
I was dead wrong... but now i really want one and can afford one... but I can't find one. so... im turning to my fellow HT members...
does anyone know anyone selling one? or 2 actually... my friend wants one also...
someone help...

They really make no sense. If you've ever removed the sunroof from a crx, you'll fins it weighs almost nothing. I had mine out last week to re-align the brackets.
What weighs so much is the assembly, brackets and motor for the sunroof to operate.
If you're going for function, don't bother.
If you're going for cosmetics, hell yeah!

it seems that you dont have a CRX or an SI model... because all... unless they were very well taken care of... are rusted. go on ebay... go on any place... they sell for a lot because of supply and demand...
that website that was given to me was just the moon roof cover... it wasnt an actual workin moonroof...
any one else care to help me out on this???
please!!!!!
because sometimes I am driving and i think the rust will just crack and make my moon roof fly...
(it happened to my friend and he had to hold it for 50 miles (huntington beach to san dimas) at night on the fone while smoking a cig and shifting... that sucks!

Are we talking about a CF plug or an actual working sunroof panel made of CF?
The CF plug would allow you to get rid of that whole assembly/brackets/motor and might be worth it...especially if it makes a little more room for my helmet.

Re: (davens)
we are talking about the real workin sunroof... made from cf... like I said i saw it on ebay... they had pictures and it looked just like the stock sunroof... but it was carbon fiber. you know ... like a carbon fiber hood... but for the sunroof... when you press the (MOON ROOF) button, the carbon fiber REPLACEMENT opens. the plug is ****. what is the point of having a moonroof, if your going to just plug it up?if that was the case then i'd just get a glass roof made!
anyway, I saw it once on ebay... i know its made... i just dont know who.

Re: (SETI20)
thanks for the pic... but I know what carbon fiber looks like up close. that picture looks like an edm carbon fiber hood... I want you to show me a picture of it farther away... like 5 feet... and so we dont have any other confusions... show it half open...
because if your posting a picture of a plug... then... it really has nothing to do with this thread...
because I am looking for a CF REPLACEMENT moonroof.
NOT A PLUG

Image "borrowed" from the shop I got it at.
It is a fully functional replacement roof panel. You will need the rubber seal either glued on, or buy a new frame from the dealer.
But that kinda defeats the "not rusting" part. I's a shitload of work to glue the rubber on and make it fit nicely tho.
