Well i don't think they are economical since the hatch itself dosen't weight much, the glass is where most of the weight comes from but if you already have it then go for it...

AND USE LEXAN!! Not glass, or all it will be is an expensive replacement for nothing.

Re: (SIred91)
how many of you saying "all the weight is in the glass" have weighed either a glassless hatch, or a cf hatch? i'm curious, since i have a couple cf hatches, some lexan windows, and the metal hatch that i just removed in front of me.
i can get all the weights except the glass-less hatch, since i'm not about to remove the glass from mine. if anyone has a weight on just the hatch, i'll go out and weigh the rest of it.

ViS makes them. I think Seibon might too (they're made the same place anyways).

from what I've seen at my shop, Seibon's quality is so much better than VIS Racing. The weave is tighter and fitment is a little better (not perfect but better).

I agree. But if the hatch was rusting out, I'd probably invest in a CF if wreckers are asking too much or hard to find.
My sunroof is getting real bad. It's basically got rust all around. The tracks are even rusted that it falls off its tracks. I might replace it with a CF one and be done with the whole thing

Re: carbon fiber hatch for crx (tavius44)
yea i am very interested in the acctual weights...I have a feeling you could get a stock hatch fairly light by putting lexan in and cutting out a lot of the support...
