this guy I know got up to 105 in a quarter mile stretch of road in his CRX.

The speed limit was 35. A cop pulled him over. Only thing cop said was to get on the ground. His *** got hauled off to jail instantly.

don't be stupid

I'm not going to lie I did it a few times before, yes on the turnpike at 2:00 A.M with no other cars on the road. Would I do it again, nope it getting boring real fast and going that damn fast in EF is scary. Even with my suspension its still scary and very boring.

I do 140kmh in my EF and I feel scared shitless. I've brought it up too...goes and does metric conversion...roughly 130mph. And I was gripping that steering wheel hard. I've gone faster on the 400 series in my bros EF as the passenger, I'll post a pic. But it's stupid, very stupid. That those speeds, a nail, a top hole, a rock or a small animal can send you on a collision course with an early grave. On a daily basis, my car sees 130-140kmh, thats 87mph. That is concidered NORMAL in Canada in my area for 400 series highways (similar to the interstate in the states).

I commute almost daily btwn Orlando and Tampa at 80-90mph... my car (with 180k + miles on it) is absolutely rock solid at those speeds. Lowered about 1.25 inches with coilovers, grippy 195-50-15 Khumo tires. If you can't drive it at those speeds w/o it being scary, there's something wrong in your suspension/steering/setup.

Someone was hotlinking on my server with an image they posted on Myspace, and it was polling the server alot, so I just owned someone. I think its an h-t member, but I'm not sure: (image inside link is NSFW):

wow...im glad your stupid enough to go that fast in an ef....but me, i have this little thing called "value of my life" and i dont wanna die anytime soon...so i try to keep it under 80 mph on the street...i got pulled once for going 60 in a 35 and nearly went to jail...thank god that cop is real cool, or else i'd be license-less for a while...Michigan is strict on tickets that are for more than 10 over the speed limit...

he might have an aftermarket thermoswitch, or he is running an open switch that keeps it constantly cool
my friend has his thermo switch open and it barely ever moves off that cool position.

When your going that fast your engine gets cooled off severly, but i guess some of you don't know that because you never touched a 100mph at least, lol.

Holy crap this thread is funny.I use to peg my speedo in my 90 hatch turbo D16 all the time. The wipers kept backing up the windshield somewhere around 120mph and then a few hundred rpm past there one would start to come off Im thinking the new CRX im just finishing with a turbo ls/vtec should pull at least 140-150mph with the LS cable tranny

That funny because lots of EF8/9 (here named EE8/9) in Portugal are used for top speed racing and i never saw one that had the temp so low (well, one had, but the temp needle was not working )
And here we pass frequently the 100mph mark (normally the EE8/9 top speed on those races is between 149mph and 158mph)

my temp gauge seems to only work sometiems, like it'll show warm, then 3 seconds later go down to the line and stuff, even when I've been driving for half an hour. There's a short in the wiring. Prolly what happened to this guy.

I agree, i hit 90 to 100 every day and it's rock solid as well. .75 H&R on Monroe Sensa-Tracs. Neuspeed upper strut bar. every thing else is bone stock. even the wheels 13" 185/75/13. Good alignment as well.

Ok guys your opinion is whatever you say it is, but some of my cars ive have had do that when you get that high like for instance on the interstate. Im not sayin i get up to speed like that on a regular bases, but people on the interstate in my area do go like 80-90mph when the speed limit is 70mph, but they say people do that anywhere, if a speed limit is 45mph, then they normally go 10mph over, so 55-60mph is normally what most people on the roads in town go, half of them anywways, the rest go below the speed limit and almost cause wrecks because there in the passing lane going that slow.
