Car rolls forward when I let clutch out in Neutral
I just finished (or almost) swapping in my JDM SiR-G B18C into my 90 ED6, so I got the mounts and everything in, i'm using a hydro GSR tranny with the HASPORT tranny mount and cable-hydro conversion actuator.
the clutch feels kinda weird now (i've heard they feel stiffer) like it feels soft at the top of the pedal range and then gets stiffer as I go down, anyways, the car is in neutral and it starts to move when i let out the clutch, what's up with that?!?! I just bought this transmission for $200 could I have gotten ripped off?
anyone have any suggestions??

Does it shift and drive through all the gears properly?
Might be your shift linkage is messed up and 'neutral' really isn't neutral.
Or maybe something messed up in the transmission - like a bent shift fork.
Have you done any recent work to the trans?

Sounds like you are STUCK in whatever gear it's trying to pull the car in.
Like a shifter fork isn't even going around one of the synchro's to disengage the gear.
Putting it in another gear binds the tranny and locks it up.... killing the engine.
Not sure about B trans, but on D's this is EASY to mess up and get this effect when putting the trans back together - it's one bolt installed before it's supposed to be installed and none of the gears shift right.

would you recommend opening it up and checking it out or trying to sell it and just forget about it..

Just get some quotes on how much to get the tranny rebuilt. Then compare that to how much it would be for another used tranny (with the risk that it could have the same or different problem too).
If you had the tranny rebuilt you could throw in a LSD at the same time!
If you just end up selling it, make sure you don't screw someone over by not telling them whats wrong with it. That wouldn't be very cool.

It probably will be cheaper for another transmission. I priced out a rebuild on a chevy 700R4 over $1k when used transmissions ran under $200. Problem is you have no guarantees with another used unit.

If you have a Helms and feel comfortable with doing new mechanical stuff then I would go for it and open it up yourself.

This guy uses a couple 2X4s, but doing tranny work gives you a reason to make use of the spare tire. It's easy to stand the tranny up on the tire with the output shaft through the center of the wheel
C-clip is probably the hardest part. I use wide painter's tape to warp around the shafts before pulling them out. Keeps everything together if I don't plan on changing gears/synchros. The gear change bolt is the 'magic' bolt that can mess it all up if done wrong.
I bet you could drop it, open it up and figure out the problem, then have your buddies dad check over your work. I bet he would be glad to help since you took the initiative to attempt it on your own!

My EF happends to be having the same problem, its a 90-93 LS B18A1 with LS 5 speed Transmission. Started her up, got her into gear then without even leaving my cult de sac it stop working so i start it up, put it in neutral, let off clutch and got in gear while in neutral. It refuses to move, and I didn't even work on it and i never had this problem in the 3 months I had this car.
