While you have the belts and the valve cover off, you might as well just spend the sixty or seventy bucks and buy new seals for the head. Take the head off and inspect it for bent valves, and while you have the belts and head off, turn the crankshaft over a few times and check the compression from your pistons. It should take about 4 or 5 hours, but it's better then dumping the motor when you have no idea if it's bad...

alright, i have not ever changed a timing belt before, but i guess i could try. i shouldnt have any probs with taking the head off too and changing the gaskets and everything around now that the timing belt is off lol.
OH i have another question here. if u have the valve cover off and you try to move and twist the cam gear by hand.. can u move it freely???? or is it a tough twist????
like i said guys, thanx for all your help with this too much appreciated

pumpkin is right. you aren't gonna be able to turn it (unless you're superman) without a rachet. make sure TDC is in place when you change the timing belt to. take the head to a specialist, and have the valves inspected unless they're noticeably damaged.
