Can You Say S2Sedan?
S2Sedan... I know just that term gets brains turning. But the reason I say
it is because I am in the business of taking suspension and drivetrain from a badass car and putting it into... shall I say "an old Favorite". if you visit my shops website @ http://www.Ironworksspeedandkustom.com, you will find a perfect resume for what i am saying in a 1957 chevy pickup. which is about 95% custom hand fabricated or aftermarket performance parts. it is full tube chassis featuring C6 Corvette Sus./Drivetrain. which by the way you will see on the Cover of Truckin' magazine sometime in the next six months. and in the pages of HOTROD mag soon after that.
Anyway back the the reason of this thread. through a few weeks of study, research, and phone calls. I am going to begin the process of turning a 1991 Ef Sedan into a well, 1991 Ef S2Sedan. that is I am taking the suspension/drivetrain from a S2000 and a 91 ef sedan and making what i hope will be one of the sickest Hondas ever.
my Love and passion for the Ef sedan runs deep and I promise that when I am done it will look like a lightly modified Ef with a bitchin yet very simple paint job and probably one of the only serious body mods will be a JDM front end. that 1957 chevy, when final assembly is complete, will be worth about $2-250,000. and my work will be no different when it comes to quality on this Sedan.
let me hear some feedback! I wanna know what you guys think.

anything is possible. its just metal... that is my favorite saying here at work because when you work with it enough you realize that you can pretty much make it do anything.

its cool your not being a dick. but it is a dream that is now becoming reality. if i can take a C6 corvette and swap it into a 1957 chevy what makes you think this would be any different.

sweet...how exactly do you plan on executing this? the suspension geometry must be a hell of a lot different between the s2k and the sedan

different because civics are front wheel drive? that's a lot of custom fabrication, im sure it can be done but what's it worth.

pretty much, it will end up being a tube chassis car, with custom suspension mounts and all that, same idea as our 1957 chevy. its all stock C6 geometry just narrowed 6 inches for the truck. like i said the same will apply to this car. but i wont be cutting the whole floor out only what it necessary. there is right about 500 hrs in the truck chassis and I will take however long i need to do this car. but when the car is done, it will basicly look like a caged 91 sedan but it will be comfortable for the street also

for me its not really about the resale or anything like that I just want to be able to go to any honda meet and have something that nobody else has anything similar to. its not about the shows or the media I just want to build the sickest car that i can.

so does this mean that you will be starting off with an S2000 chassis/frame?
it's kind of hard to believe that someone will buy a perfectly good S2000, just to hack away at it and put some "ef skin" on top
you are one crazy ****

no its a salvage S2000 but I am taking the sus/drivetrain out of it and taking a good non salvage sedan and putting the S2000 stuff in it. look at our website you will see what i mean with the corvette stuff. its just stock C6 supension and C6 suspension geometry not stock corvette chassis.

I think if you have the time and money, then go for it. I'm sure it's possible, my dad raised me around the whole hotrod scene and I've seen some amazing fab work done on some of them and that 57 chevy is proof that you definately know what your doing.
Very nice projects on your website

Re: Can You Say S2Sedan? (hondaman86)
i'm just waiting for the build thread.
the idea is a little different from the typical hotrod deal, since you are converting a fwd unibody car to a rwd tube chassis. if the approach is straight old-school body off design mentality, then you'll end up with a pretty heavy car and a lot of people wondering why you didn't build a 7, factory5, or a beck550.
but then there is the idea of a semi-tube chassis caged car, which leaves a lot of room for non-redundancy and efficiency in the design.
keep everybody posted

Re: Can You Say S2Sedan? (oldschoolfreak)
It's not a sedan, but the EF Wagovan already has a central tunnel for the AWD driveshaft and a location for the rear diff. It's also more rare than the sedan.
When I was deciding what motor to swap into mine, I briefly considered the S2000 drivetrain. As the car has ZERO rust and a clean history, I couldn't bring myself to rearrange the sheetmetal.
If you'd like a pic, I can send you one from my stock vehicle when it was on a lift.
Good luck,
Chris

auto cad everything.
make kits.
become rich.
/end
(kidding)
the hardest part is the difference in wheelbase is substantial, which means the oem transfer to the rear wheels is useless....
complete custom drive train here you come, hope you plan on making your own b/c aftermarket stuff like that for an s2k is retarded expensive.
Just try to keep it as light as possible so it has some sort of advantage over a regular s2k.
O, and change your plans and use a crx. Remember the s2k is a 2 seater also

well first of all im not in this to be rich, so the kit idea is out. but i like some good sarcasm
and well the wheel base is an easy issue there are much more things to worry about. i say that because S2000 wheelbase is 94.5 inches and It is nothing to lengthen it to the 98 inch wheelbase of the sedan. but it would be just as easy to shorten it to the 90 inch wheelbase of a crx. i am just alittle more partial to the sedan. we had to lengthen the torque tube of the C6 13 inches and make a carbon fiber driveshaft. look at the truck on our website.
AND SO EVERYONE KNOWS I AM NOT AFRAID OF SOME MAJOR FABRICATION I DO IT FOR A LIVING!
I am in now way bad mouthing anyone, but because of the Automotive aftermarket world the only thing that anyone knows how to do anymore is bolt things on and very minor fabrication. that is why i am setting this one apart from everything else.
