Funds really arent the problem with my decision. Ive already had a boosted d-series crx and loved it.. Just dont know if I want to try and up my previous setup or go b-series then b-series boost down the road. Decisions Decisions..

Freemana where did you get your swap from? Did you buy it from a place like Hmotorsonine or did you buy it local from someone?

I bought it on HT for $1,000. Came with axles, dist, starter, alternator, trans, ACT clutch, lightweight flywheel, B16A with around 80k miles. Then I had to get DA hubs since I have a standard. Also needed an ECU and I ended up replacing the distributor. Then it needed a shift linkage, injector resister box, intake which I had, and a couple other things. The swap I bought had hasport mounts too. It came out of a CRX. The guy was building a boosted H22 w/LSD b-series trans. Car looked nice and the motor looked fair to me. I got a decent deal, it wasn't a steal but the guy had plenty of tire kickers come by.

I looked at it and the guy gave me a hand and we loaded it in the back of my hatch.

See Im just nervous about building a motor from a local person like you did. Bc honestly you dont know what you get until you swap it. Id almost rather pay extra to buy it from hmotorsonline. Atleast if it doesnt run they give you a new motor. But ive never really heard of anyone having a problem with them.

Ok update. 157 miles in and I have a drive side axle leak. Only problem I have had so far. I am assuming I installed the seal to deep and it seems to slowly gotten worse. Bought a new seal today will try to put it in within the next few days to get you all a video of it running.

So was I. And you can see 3 threads I made with problems I had with the motor. But sometimes it works out. The motor I bought was never opened and I guess I sort of trusted the guy.

Dang! Losing trans fluid? No damage though I hope. Good catch. I've seen more obvious stuff go un-noticed.

Yea it's bad. It's slinging all over the under side and onto the collector pipe which makes a nice burnt oil smell and some good smoke. Lost a quart. Parking it till I have time to fix it.

Dang! Didn't burn anything up did you? What trans fluid are you using? I use some sort of motor oil because it's what was recommended from the factory, but it's a different motor than this.

Nah didn't burn anything up that I can tell. I was using 10w30 that's what this recommends to. But when I bought my new seal I got some honda mtf. I'll switch it in there once I know the leak has stopped.

Yes! A gallon for $20 or a gallon for $40. I use the 10w30 still. Thought about the MTF, but haven't tried it myself.

Sorry have not updated. I have a kitchen renovation going and I sold my daily Volvo s90 for a 6th gen 4dr accord 4cyl getting that all ready to drive. So the car is still sitting with a leaking axle seal. Working on getting that straightened up. Got my hood risers and will post a video up of the Rex cruising as soon as the leak gets fixed. I'm frustrated seeing this beast sit in my driveway. More to come soon.

Little quick shot up at deals gap the dragon at the Tn/Nc border. Only about 1 and a half hours away from my house. Great drive had fun. And thanks to 129 slayer for the photos. Also the chassis hit 222,222.2 miles on the way home and I surpasses the 1k mark on the engine rebuild.
