Bombing the spiders out of my car
So I've been working on my old EF again (after a 3-4 year break). It seem a bunch of different arachnid species have decided to camp in my car. I ended up with a bad spider bite. I have to take anti biotics and it itches like all hell.
How can I safely and cleanly evict my unwanted tenants? This bite is traumatizing me. I'm scared to work on my car again.

yikes, i'd be traumatized too! i hate those buggers. i'm not sure if they work cuz i haven't tried them yet, but those plug-in pest repeller things are supposed to send spiders, mice, etc away. extension cord and a couple bucks at Target would be worth a try... meets your "safe and clean" requirements. otherwise it's RAID all over your interior...
good luck!
good luck!

I say long sleeves and a vacuum, start pulling the interior out and clean everything. Put a blowgun on an air compressor and blow out all the nooks and crannies.

I would go get a tank of CO2 (5-10lb bottle) from a welding supply place, remove your driver or pass seat to have a nice flat surface, set your climate control to outside air (to release pressure), put the bottle in a cardboard box standing up straight, crack the valve and shut and LOCK the doors, leave it overnight, nite nite spideys.
Why this method is awesome;
-No Odor
-No Residue
-NON-TOXIC (provided you aren't in the car)
-Spiders cannot breathe in a CO2 saturated environment nor can the eggs mature.
-Spiders don't dig the cold, this is going to create carbon dioxide frost.
Things you have to consider;
-If you do this in a garage ensure it is locked and/or very thoroughly ventilated (wouldn't want to suffocate your self or the kiddies)
-This is going to make your car very cold, and if it is hot in your neck 'o' the woods you can get condensation. Condensation=bad for unpainted steel and unsealed electronics (your dash support and ecu/wiring/stereo) So keep it covered or in a garage/shed.

Re: Bombing the spiders out of my car (bspeed)
I guess most of you have never seen my HB.. It's 90% stripped. I have no climate control. It's 2 seats, a cage, dash & door panels. The interior is sprayed with a truck bed liner.

I actually have a 15lbs co2 bottle. I use it to run my air tools. Works great when off roading, at the track, etc..
Will they die? what about babies? I see white nests in every crack.
I like working on the engine better

LOL! I think a good ol' can of wasp and hornet spray should do the trick
Above, you have all of the steps to eradicate the spiders from your car and also the Giant hornets...do a write up and let us know how it goes

I had the same issue.
Live and let live is my philosophy. They'll all move out once the thing starts getting used...
Turn on the engine and let it idle a bit if you can, the vibrations annoy them.
Otherwise, be careful.

I once had a sentra with ants...... Remove your seats, gut the car of all hiding places, liberally spray bug spray, let it sit for a day, wash the interior with a mild bleach solution, and patch any holes leading into your car, also, clean under the hood.

Had one bite me on the face. Looked like someone put out a cig on my cheek. Took some antibiotics and it went away in a week or so. You can't even notice the scar and I have great skin. We all expected to see a huge hole or something. Just don't let it go for long periods w/o antibiotics or end up like those puds.
I wouldn't recommend bombing since it might stay in the ducts of your ac/heat and the seats foam material. Just not healthy and whatnot. I like the C02 idea, but I'd be scared of it getting too cold and cracking windows or destroying something even if the car is gutted. Just put on some work gloves and strip it to the max, then get the hose out and spray it out. The air compressor idea seems the most feasible.

It won't get THAT cold.
It will kill everything that is alive in your car with the doors shut. Between the cold temp (maybe 20-30F at night like a cold refrigerator). This is how my friends and I have cleaned out old boats, cars, even did it to an attic of a house we were working on.
If your car is that gutted down you could get one of those bug bombs that leave no residue. I like and use the CO2 because I think it is a little more safe and def way more fun.

when my accord was down and out for months, i used ordinary airfresher lemon or citrus scented and cranked on the fan. most insects will leave since the citric acid is irritating to them, plus your car smells ok.
