battery dosent hold charge...
I relocated my battery to the rear of my hatch... I have a few questions..
What gauge wire is being used when relocating battery? Grounding location?(i have mine on the strut bolt with bare metal contact)
why wont my battery hold charge?
When i first did the relocation it started fine. I tested to see if the alt. was going bad by removing the battery terminals but car stayed on, so alt. is ok,right?
I tried the battery out of my 01 prelude (optima battery-no problems with it in prelude) and it did the same, drove it to work & 2hrs later car wont start...
Please help!!! any ideas what could be causing this.

what voltage are you getting on the battery terminals with the car running ? you should get about 13.5 - 14.5 Volts. if you are getting less than 13.5 your alternator is weak. than you want to turn on everything that you can possibly turn on, a/c, headlight, radio, wiper etc and see if the voltage stays about 13.5V .. the voltage should not change when you turn things on.
as for wire gauge .. i'd go as thick as possible 6 gage ?

haha i would naturally say, to get a newer alternator.
but a ground will not suck up all the juice out or a battery.
is there anything you have connected to a power that stays constantly on?

Thanks for the help, but i think i pinpointed the problem to my starter. I should of mention before that the car doesnt start but everything turns on.
After work today i went to try to start it and nothing. I had one of the guys tap on my starter (TO RULE IT OUT)while i tried cranking it and it started up. So it might not be the battery holding charge but a starter about to take a **** on me...
Thanks again for your help guys!!!
