im no rocket scientist but i believe that d-series and b-series engine parts are not interchangable...it could also be that your question doesn't make any sense to begin with

B-series parts are nor interchangeable with D-Series.

the only parts you can re-use from the mini-me swap is the harness and ecu, bu the motor will not run right. Come on now, its common sense. stop trying to cut corners and get what is needed to do the swap

You know what I love it when people talk like they know what they are talking about but really don't??? I pulled my D16Z6 Vtec Solenoid off and it bolted right up to my B16A2 head......hmmmmmmmm wonder what else. Good thing I'm cutting corners cause I just saved myself some money on a solenoid that I can use somewhere else. Thanks for the useful info.

Ahhhhhhh newbies, yes it bolts up. What's your point? Look at the pressure switch placement, look different? Don't try and school me because your too cheap to do thngs the right way. Just cause something bolts up doesn't mean it will work right. I know it bolts up whether it works right I don't know because I do things the way theyare supposed to be done. I see more posts about issues with this build coming soon

if your going to do the swap do it right! there are so many parts out there that you can find all the parts you need for cheap, my buddy the other day sold his b16a solenoid for like 10 or 15 bucks, so come on..... plus dont post on here with questions that your going to get butt hurt on when people give you there opinion....which the opinion everyone has is dont cut corners bc its goin to suck in the long run,....trust me when have either tried the shortcuts at sometime in our life or know someone who has, and trust me when doing a swap its not worth it.......so to sum it all up DO IT RIGHT

If, you really want you can gut your z6 distributor and swap the Internals into a junk obd1 or obd2 distributor. Your sensors are the same. Aside from that, that's it

there are plenty of things that will work from your d series to the b series just about every sensor will work fuel injectors will work fly wheel and pressure plate bolts , the d series vtec Solenoid does bolt to the b series head i will give you that but before making a jackass statement you should look up the flow and pressure rate and you would see that they are different if you use the d series solenoid on your b20vtec your cams are gonna burn

First off chucklehead ease up on the Red Bull and relax dude. I believe I read in his post and I quote:"B-series parts are nor interchangeable with D-Series."

Not trying to be a dick but I also want to get "correct" info. First nothing can be used and now some things can be used. How I look at it is if your not going to give me info about the info I inquired about butt the hell out and quit stirring the pot with your worthless info. I never said they didn't know anything but it's apparent you don't- otherwise rather than wasting the bandwith with pointless drabble how about answering the question??? So I guess "now" there are parts that can be used........hmmmmmmmmmm.

I stand by what I sad do it right. I hear people say the combo doesn't last but I'm going strong on 4yrs with my lsv because I did it right. You want your swap to last, then do it right.

omg omg omg i never knew that u could use those little parts, oh wait i did learn that, in tech school. the main bigger parts is wut ur lookin for to change correct? nd the hassle u r gonna go through to change em out is not worth it, besides ur b20 should have the sensors nd parts in them, so u have no need to really change em out,

That's why I didn't originally mention them, those are parts I Would swap with new ones to begin with.

They were originally bought new on the d series swap and seeing how I'm starting with a bare block
(Crank, girdle, rods, pistons) nothing on the outside of the block. If someone had stated that you can actually
Use d series stuff on b series It would've been appreciated. But apparently that's commen knowledge.

So then actually the solenoid is usable you just need to swap the pressure
Switch from a b series but you can use the d series solenoid?

not just the pressure switch the actual inside of the b series vtec solenoid has larger oil flow ports

If the vtec solenoid bolts on it'll work. Its just a switch that's filled with oil. If the solenoid and its filter gasket fit nicely it will do the trick. Vtec isn't going to be affected at all or improved etc. Some vtec solenoids don't bolt up ie d16y8 solenoids don't bolt up to b series motors so maybe that's where all this info has gotten incorrect. All obd2 jdm b series motors do not have a pressure switch since the switch is electronic.

do you have an obd2 ecu to run your B20Vtec? if not then shut up and listen. obd1 ecu's require an oil pressure switch. DING DING DING, i think school is in. Stop wasting our time and do what ever you want with your car. its up to you how you want to run it.
