B18A1 CRX - Acceleration lag.
Hey guys so about a week ago I got my crx on the road. I've been noticing with my B18 swap, I've been having acceleration lag. It doesn't cut out and come back, it is just more like a boost at 4,500 RPM like I'm hitting vtec.
You can be gassing it hard, then once you cross 4,000-4,500 rpm it feels like the engine reaches it's real power and really gets going.
Running the CRX SI ecu, I was told this would run the motor fine.
Running no 02 sensor
And I do have an exhaust leak, if that would cause it.
Could someone please list off some things to check, I did take it to a shop after and all of the vaccum lines are done and all of that crap.
It also idles around 1,200 RPM after you really get driving for a bit. It'll remain around 12. Should I look into my timing?

Sounds like your timing is off. Check mechanical timing by putting the bottom end at TDC and make sure the head is also at TDC. Then check ignition timing by jumper the service connector and using a timing light

^^^ after fixing the above issue also look into converting it to obd1. ive had alot of trouble in the past with the resistor box for the injectors overheating causing acceleration lag with obd0 b-series swaps.

Re: B18A1 CRX - Acceleration lag.
Newb here, so take it easy on me... I have a problem with mine! I have 88 CRX si, with a b18a1(think its from a 91 LS) swap. Running the factory crx si computer. I have the ECU (ecu is good, been tested) and ECU jumper harness to go obd1. I plug the new ecu in the car starts but has a hard time getting over 3,500 rpm! I have OBD1 injectors. SO do i need to do away with the resistor box on the injectors or what? Kinda lost! runs good on the factory SI ecu but i think it would run better on the Integra ecu and plan on tuning down the road!
thanks
thanks
