B16 OBD0 TO OBD1 WITH CONVERSION HARNESS Help it's been a long time
Ok here's my problem mostly it's just i did this so long ago.
The car is an 88civic cx was dpfi
So it was converted to MPFI a long time ago so i have wiring for that.
Then it had the b16 installed in it so it has wiring for that.
Now i want to convert to obd1 with the conversion harness.
So i know i have to convert the harness back to stock but i really don't remember whats what from all the times i've been in there. I can trace back but am unsure why i have to make it back to stock to use the conversion harness. tracing the taps off the conversion harness it looks like it should work but of course doesn't.
Do i have to undo just the vtec/b16 wiring??
Do i have to hook back up the stock wiring that was cut for vtec/mpfi.
The MPFI wiring should be fine right?? just remove the vtec wiring and attach to the subharness of the converion harness??
Any insight would be appreciated

Re: B16 OBD0 TO OBD1 WITH CONVERSION HARNESS Help it's been a long time
Here's what I did - it costs more but it is much safer to do and much less time consuming. I'm also not the best to just rewire something. So I just did the rywire conversion with ecu jumper harness and never looked back. Plug and play and I went from DPFI to OBD1 VTEC for my b16a2 swap in my '89 DX hatch (took me 30 mins to remove harness and ship out - got the box back in 2 weeks and took me 30 mins to hook it back up). For me time and cutting out one of the most complex parts of the swap was worth it.

Yeah thought about that route. really considering just ordering one of rywire's mil spec obd1 race only harnesses.
Have the rywire conversion harness from obd0 Si to obd1 good lookin product but the instructions are very vague as to what needs to be removed and put back to make it stock.
I went back thru dpfi to mfpi conversion but am unsure if i need to move pins back from that part, also went through my vtec wiring and b16 stuff but am unsure if i can just cut them off or do i have to depin them reconnect the factory wires that were removed and then proceed with using and connecting the conversion harness.

I started from stock so it was quick and easy for me to do that I did. Since you've changed yours already on your own I'm probably not the right person to give advice on what you should do next. Maybe find a shop in the area that has as good rep and does swaps. I have a local one here in KC (Revline Motors) and they do this regularly and know these cars very well.

pretty sure you just undo the b16 additions (vtec stuff and 2nd o2 if you did that) and you keep the MPFI wiring. I could be wrong, but i dont think i am haha.

I just did this on mines last summer. All you really need to do is wire the sub-harness from your jumper harness into the obd harness that wires up vtec, o2 sensor, etc. You also have to get an obd1 distributor, I made a jumper harness from junkyard wires for that. You should also switch to obd1 injectors(high saturated, I believe thats what 0bd1 ecus run).
For your question above, just connect your obd 1 jumper harness to the vtec subharness, then run the o2 wires from the obd1 harness
