Interesting that I found this... Im in Australia not much of this has been done down here and I'm pretty sure I'm the first to have a h2d crx!

Anyways I have the bisimoto complete kit... Should be putting the engine in this weekend, was it easy to lower the car down to the engine or do you think lowering it from the top will be just as easy?

Any tips you can give will be greatly appreciated!!!! I've been searching the net for as much info as I can find.... Can't wait to have this baby up n runnning

Could you get some vids of it running and out driving? Also some close up pics in the engine bay top and bottom shots would be nice. Never seen a H2D in a CRX been waiting long to see one, as I want it in mine too!! With a nice built D series LSD transmission of course

Well I can't dare to cut the hood; just thinking on rain to the damage of engine and the mess it would cause/bring underneath the cut hood, drags me away and more towards Explicit Speed Performance products... Have you had any concerns or issues since cutting your hood? Please share

I have ESP's mounts and I can close my hood completely. As for Bisimoto I can only say you WILL have to cut the hood. From what I hear their products are great though. ESP's stuff was great but I waited 16 weeks to get it.

What about just shimming the mounts down? Only thing youd have to do is reweld a new rear T bracket...

I realize that but like I said why couldnt you just shim the mounts down? Put quite a few washers or some kind of block between the mounts and the motor/trans?

you can do that, but i rather have my motor sit higher than lower, so i can keep my car low and looking nice with this swap. im not really worried about hood clearance anways gonna mock up a hood sooner or later.

There is a company named bullfrog racing. They make false claims in power mods but there is a cowl induction hood that is made by them. It is for the 88-91 crx, civic. It looks decent. Not great but not horrible. Look for them. As far as using bushings to shim the engine down you will run into problems with the rear mount. Not only that but destroy the polyurethane mounts.

The bisimoto H2XX kits are good for ground clearance but suck for hood clearance.

Call bisi. He ran that hood for ever on the first blue all motor crx. Back in the day before the header drama.
