89 CRX DX High Idle Original Motor
Idles way to high and now this has calmed the Idle for now. Any idea how to fix this so it just stays at a normal nice idle.
and here is a pic with my air germans. I know it needs more low but the motor is more important. Thank you for stoppin by.

Is that just an open vacuum line there? Coming from the MAP sensor no less. If it is just an open line that helped fix your idle, I'll put some money on a bad MAP sensor. Usually a good map will destroy your idle if you have an open line.
Or I'm looking at the picture wrong.

That thing you have zip tied open is used for cold start ups to keep the idle high, once the engine builds up vacuum it pulls in allowing the throttle body pulley to return to its home position. Remove the zip tie, start the engine and watch for that part to be pulled in by the vacuum. If it doesnt pull in after about 20 seconds or so you have a vacuum leak.

^^ that part has a diaphragm in it.
If the diaphragm is torn, then there will be a vacuum leak all day long.
Hook some vacuum tube on it and pull a vacuum - you can even just suck on the line - if the vacuum leaks off then there is a problem.

Once that zip tie is removed the cars idle shots up and doesn't regulate.
I will be heading to my shop tomorrow to try and deal with this issue. Thank you very much for the help.

I brought it to the shop and we determined that we will replace the rubber inside of this piece.

You can remove that piece, and plug up the vacuum line if you want to do it cleanly. Or goto junkyard and get another. It wouldnt hurt to remove it and make sure the vac lines going to it are clean, then clean out the diaphram inside that piece.
