Default 88 crx electronic load detector

I had my 1.5l hf engine swapped with a 91 1.5l hf but my tech failed to use the 88 engine sub harness and seems to have shorted either some wires or toasted the eld in the multiplex box. Upon start up dtc 20 sets after a few minutes of the engine running. In addition, the temp gauge immediately goes to hot if the head lights are turned on, the coolant fan doesn't operate at the proper temps, the fuel pump intermittently loses power but will power up again if the key is cycled and the wiper motor runs very slow on high speed. I believe the eld may have been damaged before he noticed the codes being set. He has now swapped the sub harness and some temp sensors but the code returns and systems continue to function improperly. Do you know how to test the eld and if it is the same as later model units that are available separate from the multiplex box ? Thanks !
