Default 88 CRX Dx dpfi vtec

I found this old pic of my brothers 88 DX CRX. When the old DX motor went south at around 200k miles a 95 D16z6 block and head went in. Not wanting to attempt a whole MPFI swap the old dx intake and exhaust manifolds were used. VTEC was activated by the wire going to the shiftlight and adjustable to whatever RPM. The stock DX tranny was also used.

With all this done it ran a 10.5 1/8th mile. This was also done with the stock dx ecu dumping small amounts of fuel through 2 injectors and the little dx throttle body. This was back in the old rice days (98 or so) so yes the stripe, and one wiper has gone away now and the engine is now a B16, I just thought all you dx guys would get a kick out of this.

It never went to a 1/4 mile track. I would guess it ran 16's. Much faster than a regular dx but still dog slow

We did the MPFI later and it did make a big difference in power.
