vg_Ace, thanks for noticing this. I assumed that the engine was stock. I will look for the engine code right now.

Re: 1991 Honda CRX HF - eun
I have a D15B1 instead of the D15B6 that should have been in there. So I'm making 10 more horses than usual. I guess my MPG isn't as good as I had previously thought. I may possibly do a mini me.

yea hilarious, except that you're wrong. probably shouldn't be a dick and correct someone unless you know for sure you have accurate info. the d15b6 IS an 8 valve engine. so either op has a dx/si engine, or it's simply a b6 with a 16v valve cover.

OP, just so you know in the rear hatch there are pieces that go to cover up your cargo compartment. However, not on a HF (High Fuel Econ) They saved weight ANYWHERE to push the amazing MPG out of those little guys. If you want you can put it in you just need to find a DX or SI rear interior.

TJChad, thanks for your info. I did think that it was weird the way it was. I guess it makes sense now.
D16SiHatch, I checked the engine code on the block and it says D15B1 so it's most likely out of the Civic Hatchback base model. It has around 70 horse power and gets about 35 mpg which isn't so great.

A question: Since I have a D15B1, does this mean that I shouldn't purchase the clutch kit sold on autohausaz for the HF? Should I buy it for the Civic Hatch instead?

Re: 1991 Honda CRX HF - eun
I removed all of the sound deadening material from the trim pieces because the odor was embedded in them. I then washed all the pieces with soap and let dry. I then vacuumed all the dirt/mess out of the rear and cleaned everything up with soap and water. I then followed with a spray of Oust odor removing spray.
I'll post the pictures of the rear after the detailed wash tomorrow. I'm happy to say that the smell is 85% removed. I expected to find something dead back there, but I was a bit relieved when I didn't. I plan on taking out of dash tomorrow and the carpeting so that I can wash and steam vac. I will also wash the floor underneath to make sure no lingering mold exists.
I had a question about this:
The white clips inside are broken off and the trim piece also has tabs missing underneath. Can anybody find me the part numbers for these pieces so I can put this humpty dumpty back together? Also about the next picture:
Does something go in between the two pieces? If so, where can I find it? Is there a part number?
More tomorrow! =D

Re: 1991 Honda CRX HF - eun
I just replaced the leds in the seat belt indicator and the passenger side light stays on when there's no one in the seat, and the driver's side stays off when there's me in the seat with no seat belt on.

Re: 1991 Honda CRX HF - eun
just take it to a dealership and have them replace the seat belts. Honda warranties their seatbelts for the life of the vehicle no matter who owns it. When I purchased mine with 193,000 miles the local Honda dealership replaced the seat belts for free.
Either that or you can just disconnect the little seat belt indicator under the seat. It's just a small connector.

I have a couple things I'm rebuilding right now:
Washed and sanded... then washed and sanded.
Then everything got a couple of layers of fresh paint.
And some faux suede action.

Mocha and Poopie:
The driver's side taillight gasket was shot, and the previous owner decided to put massive amounts of sealant. The sealant was so old that it became impossible to remove the taillight without breaking it. After destroying the taillight, I had to deal with this:
It took about 3 hours to get it clean.
Then I finished my faux suede headliner.
Finally found one of these at the junkyard. I also picked up a pair of taillights. If anyone wants a free passenger side taillight let me know. Come pick it up 20190.

Re: 1991 Honda CRX HF - eun
Currently the interior is completely gutted and I'm restoring the following things:
The door trim: (I will be using the rest of the faux suede)
The carpet: (currently looking for the right material)
And of course, the typical seat rips: (I'm looking to replace this with a Sparco seat and leave the passenger side alone - let me know if you want a free driver's side seat!)
The glovebox was missing and now it will be installed once the dash gets a nice faux suede action!
I also need new vents (both sides):

Do you know if you have the HF trans? Also the year of the trans is important to know when ordering a clutch.

I do not know what transmission I have, but I do know that the engine is not stock. I'm guessing that the transmission is stock but who knows, maybe the previous owner swapped the entire engine and tranny. Is there a place I should look for to get the exact year and model for the transmission? I haven't tackled the transmission issue yet because I may end up swapping something else soon.

Re: 1991 Honda CRX HF - eun
Thanks Wasian538 for this. Which carpet size do I need? The 2 Door Passenger Area Molded Carpet or the DX and SI Complete Kit Molded Carpet? I'm guessing the 2 Door Passenger Area Molded Carpet is from the personal trunk tray and forward? Would the DX and Si Kit not fit on my HF?

Okay I just want to make sure that the carpet isn't just for the passenger side... that would be a tragic mistake.
