"Shaved" side moldings
Has anyone here done this on their Civic or Rex? One of my guys shaved the side moldings on his HF. Not really sure what to think about it. Looks clean on the side but the front/rear bumpers still have a molding on them...

dont do it, it will look lame...
the proper way to do it, is to weld in metal over the indentation and smooth it out...its a pain in the ***...

I wasn't really thinking about doing it. Was wondering what you guys all thought. Apparently its "jdm". Never seen an EF without side moldings...

shaved side moldings is not JDM. JDM cars have side moldings. only difference is that some year moldings are thinner than some USDM years. don't do it. It wouldn't look that good IMO

As long as the bumper moldings are painted the same color as the car it will look fine. I have a 88 4dr with shaved handles and moldings and it looks hot.

your just a hater........ppl have different taste! abviously your not one of those guys that likes shaved moldings. i myself have a shaved moldings and no it's not bondoed on there it's welded. i also got the moldings on the front/rear bumber sanded down to even out with the bumper surface.

Re: "Shaved" side moldings (EL Vap133)
Yea unfortunately I do agree, that color makes the car look a bit like a metro. I personally removed my mouldings and welded in the holes, leaving the body line in place. I think it looks nice but the car is my hooptie beater and it's flat black. I think it looks better with mouldings than with no body line whatsoever. It's not "JDM" and it's certainly not "natural" looking.
