Default yakima Rack on a del sol TRUNK

I am a huge road biker (well tiny guy). I used to have a del Sol and I loved that car. Since then I have had a civic and now a prelude. The prelude, I have hated since I got it running (bought with blown engine) and have been looking to get ride of it. Someone offered me a trade for a clean del Sol. I am seriously considering it.

With my past two cars, I have used a roof rack to transport my bikes, and use it nearly every day.

What I was thinking about was since the del Sol has such a large trunk lid, I was wondering if anyone has mounted a Yakima Style rack on the trunk of a Del Sol? If it was a yakima rack, what clips did you use?

The problem I see with that is the way the seals are designed, the rack will cause them to compress, and leak where the clips attach to the roof. In addition the roof attachment points are kinda flimsy. I would rather have it on the trunk as it is slightly stronger then the top, with no chance for leaking if I put it there. In addition, it would be much more are on the trunk, as not as much bike is exposed so it would be more aerodynamic.

A del sol is a little hard to have a roof rack put on but it can be done either with towers or with tracks. but if you wanting to carry bikes, you could go with a hitch mount and carry bikes all you want without having to put them ontop of your roof.
