IM SORRY BUT..... when i look at a car the first thing i do is look if the title is clean, having a rebuilt or salvage title BOTHER ME, people who have it says "O ITS NO BIG DEAL" but i think its a very big deal, so when theres hondas and integras that want 10g for a REBUILT OR SALVAGE TITLE it doesnt seem right, WOULD U RATHER BUT A CLEAN TITLE CAR FOR THAT MUCH?

I would DEFINITELY care. I would never buy a car with a salvaged title because something you cant be too sure about the history.

Sure a clean title'd car can have a major accident, but the chances that it does are less.


A friend of mine has a clean title'd CGP coupe and the passenger side corner is wrinkled to all hell.

well in cali you pay more for insurance if the car is a salvage title so i want clean titles only

if the car is the same price i want a clean
but if one is 4g and the other is 7g, if the savage title car is for 4g and has no frame damage/the body panels line up ill take the savage title car.

Iits stupid! Even cars that have been in accidents with CLEAN titles are lame... Depends what type of accident though i guess.

yea its worth more, but just becuase it has a clean title, doesnt mean ****.
my car was considerd totaled, still has clean title, accord- stolen still clean when i got rid of it.

i would pay less for salvage/rebuilt depending on way it has it, or how well it was repaired.
i generally wont really look at cars that are salvaged.

i prefer to buy a clean title car.... cause then i wouldn't feel like i didn't waste my money on a car that has been stolen or hit...

i work at a body shop in my spare time

salvage title cars dont bother me at all.

as long as the repairs are done correctly, then its all good.


remember, salvaged just means the cost to fix was more than the car was worth.

a very minor accident can total out an older honda.

theft will cause a salvaged title, even tho the car wasnt wrecked.

if you know what you are looking for, and know the history, you can decide whether or not a salvaged title vehicle is worth getting.

Remember that a "salvage title" is an insurance industry construct. One reason a car with a salvage title will be worth less in the market is because it cannot be insured (for damage to the car itself) to the same extent a car without a salvage title can. The reason is that some insurance company somewhere has already paid the full value (or near the full value) of the car in the past in reimbursement for an accident.

Always call your insurance company to get a quotation for how much coverage it will give for a car with a salvage title that you are considering buying. Hence one guideline is not to pay more for a salvage titled car than what one's insurance company will cover.

i paid 2k for my stock eg6 back in the 2004 with a rebuild title and now after the engine swap, drivetrain, etc i think it worth more. rebuild title dont bather me cuz the car was hit in the back but was reaaly small hit, i have the car for about 5 years and nerver give me any problem with the title not even with the insurance. so soonest the car runs and look good or is a real deal i dont care about rebuild or salvage titles.

I did pay more for a clean title car. I got a Miata with a clean title for $6000 rather than get one with a salvage title or rebuilt title for 2 or 3. My Ek also has a clean title which i paid more for. Clean title mo' betta!!!!!!

you could be paying extra for a car that has been wrecked at one point, and the people just arent telling you.

x2. I'll take the CLEAN TITLE, instead of the salvage title. Coz, later on if I decide to sell the car, the PINK SLIP will be a clean title. Also, I'll get a print out from CARFAX to see what record it has. So, at least it has some "value".

no. my car was wrecked, my uncle who works form pemco siad it was totaled, well its still driving all fixed clean title and all.
brothers si, was stolen,its still driving around, clean title as well.

my point i was trying to get acroos was just becuase the title says its clean, doesnt mean the car, hasnt been wrecked or stolen,
i could go on and on about how many cars i know of that have been wrecked or stolen that still retain clean titles.
also most the time a car will only get a salvage title if the insuracne company pays a claim on it.
