The only good part in NASCAR is when people crash and flip and cars explode. Other than that, its a bunch of redneck white guys going in an oval and making left turns for the rest of their life.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

crash and flip...hahahaha

I agree, NASCAR sucks! The only good part in NASCAR is when people crash and flip and cars explode.
RIP Earnhardt: The Intimidator

He was my one and only favorite Nascar driver! He even raced at Sebring in the American Le Mans Series (I think). What a great driver!

oh well if i'm the only one i'll shut up and start talking about my civ
No, you're not the only one.. i'm guilty. I go to Daytona and have for 11 years in a row now. It's not like I think they're absolutely incredble cars, i'm impressed that 43 drivers can run 70 laps at 195 mph about 1/4 of an inch apart and not crash like they did at the Bud Shootout this year. It's fun....and wow, i'm not a redneck! Drank plenty of beer though

damm there are a bunch on nieve haters here. I saw dale ernhart and I think his son win some 24 hour race where he raced for the first time ever in rain and he still won. they were racing the c5r vette. nascar may not be your thing but those guys don;t drive for a living cause they have no skills.

Sorry shawn...i'm gonna have to **** in your corn flakes...

NASCAR has already developed a wet weather "package" that the teams will use at watkins glen in the event of rain...they just haven't had the opportunity to. The craftsman truck series has though...
I'm looking forward to that, personally. Road racers simply don't respect NASCAR because what it takes to win is the right package of a buzillion dollars, a good pit crew, a $200,000 car with a $1,000,000 development budget, and drafting skills.

What Roger Foo did two years ago at Laguna Seca on a shoestring could never happen in NASCAR - EVER. He beat the pros with a Honda Civic and $0.02 and superb driving skills.

There are some good drivers in NASCAR, but they are castrated by what it takes to win. Some of the best drivers are simply on the wrong team, and unable to compete because their team doesn't have the money. The organization body also goes WAY out of its way to make the pack way too close together.

Wanna make the Daytona 500 a better, safer race? Open up the infield road course. The speeds will go WAY down real fast. I'll bet they could remove the restrictor plates if they opened up the road course.

I'm a NASCAR fan, I go to races whenever I can. Actually, I'm going to Bristol, TN in March. I can't wait, by far the most action packed race on the NASCAR circuit.

And for the haters, there not all a bunch of gap-toothed rednecks, Kurt Busch is from Las Vegas and far from a redneck, and Jeff Gordon , is from California I think, and Kevin Harvick is also from Cali.

Lots of Winston Cup drivers have thier hands in many other things too. Like Tony Stewart, who holds titles for both the NWC and Indy Racing. And those cars are too damn heavy to be runnin' 185+ in the rain!! They do have rain setups for the road courses though, as someone previously mentioned.

I will agree that it is a big money sport though, but so is all professional racing. And the term is even quoted around here often: "Speed = Money, how fast do you want to go?"

Edit: Now that I think about it, I think Jeff Gordon is from New York, but either way, far from a redneck.

i like nascar...(flame away). it's racing thats alll there is to it just a diffrent set of rules. if anything has wheels and a motor i'm game cars, truck, baha, monster trucks, motorcycles, auto-x, cart, indy, top-fuel and my favorite swap buggys
in conclusion if you don't like nascar thats your opinion and i respect that but, i don't think you could get in 1 of those cars and pull the speeds they do and ride in a pack at those speeds also so stay biased and keep running autocross

Nascar blows....turning left is not a sport...i get tired of seeing it after the 236lap and then there is how more? And further more if you cant race cuz a lil water on the ground then you shouldnt be racing...

And they took over speedvision too....that really blows its redneck talk 24/7 now

That's because it's the most popular racing series in the US.

The only things that I don't like about NASCAR is that they don't run in the rain, they aren't "real" cars so to speak, and they go in a damn left circle. Other than that, I like the sport just fine. Of course, if those things weren't the way they were, it wouldn't be NASCAR. What really trips me out though, is that I actually know people who will buy nothing but Ford Tauruses, or Chevy monte Carols because, "I'm a Chevy man" I've even talked to a few people who didn't know it was just a bunch of rolled sheet metal with a huge motor. The only thing close to a Monte Carlo about the car is the sticker headlights and the badge.

Why road racers don't respect NASCAR
because those NASCAR retards turn right in only 2 - 3 races a year! the Daytona 500 looks pretty interesting not because "it's the biggest race of the season" but because the announcers GET you into it. Over all though, i wish there was a 24 hour F1 channel not that SPEED Channel with NASCAR TV on every hour.

i think you just described F1 racing on a budget.

Shawn
which only happens in few races.
these types of scenario's are not common in professional road racing either.
it probably happens as much in lower level nascar feeder races as it does in real "road racing".

sgouldn't all "stock cars" be about the same in terms of performance and modifications and weight. I think this scenario would be ideal in terms of who would be a better driver in NASCAR is this correct?

unless you have ever personally driven a NASCAR oval than don't knock the sport

F1 is absolutley no different than NASCAR, in fact it actually boring compared to NASCAR, very few passes, once on pole you generally stay there, and those cars are worth millions along with the race team budget

just like NASCAR the drivers and car builders are what the fans love

This is a dumb thread

Its snobs like you that will keep road racing where it is in North America...at the bottom of the pile. I don't like Nascar but Nascar helps to promote motorsport in general and to have the marketing and the fans they do get a big from me. Lets see a WC race pull in the kinda crowds the open wheel modifieds do running some short track in boon dock no where town then you turn your nose up at nascar.

It was a great day for roadracing when Dale Erndhart drove that Corvette around daytona...I didn't hear anyone complain about his driving skills.

Urbanlegend: You said it. F1 boils down to who has the most money, or more technology. Any proffesional driver can win in the fastest car, but what about when the field is within a second or 2? Not knocking F1, but IMO it'd be more entertaining if there were rules to make it more competitive.

Please, my friends and I reffer to it as Asscar. It is the most overrated motorsport in the world!
