Yes and yes..
civics have alot of aftermarket parts and easy to steal.
then again any honda/acura are easy to steal.

i think its cus theyre easy to steal and the motors are decently easy to pull compared to other cars
Because of the interchangeable parts, not to mention there were a lot of civics made.
they cool
The demand for parts is also one factor that keeps theives in business people are willing to pay for parts and they are willing to sell them however little do some people know that they are stolen parts
there wanted!!! and most people have civics
FIRST OFF ALL WUT A STUPID QUESTION AND SECOND CIVICS ARE NOT THE MOST STOLEN VEHICLE!!!

But sometimes jackers are stupid. I had my ek stolen and i got it back like 2 days later. All they stole was my stereo, speakers, sum lil megaman figure i had, and my Si seat headrests. Like they didnt bother opening the hood (thank god!) or like checking anything chassis/suspension wise.

definatly easy to steal, easy to strip, easy to sell and you make a killing.
I beg to differ...I heard some f'ked up *** that has went on here in Chicago. One of my buddies had his ITR put up for the winter *Which means: Lifted on jackstands...rims were off, his detachable steering wheel in his house, and and alarm activated...* Well, these mother ******* threw his wheels on, took his summer wheels, and ransacked his garage...they took tools, and whatever they could grab. So in the morning he wakes up to find the garage door open and no ITR.

Re: Why are Civics the most stolen?
Economically there is a strong market for honda civics to this date, and a strong demand for performance aftermarket parts. Therefore urging others to to steal what they can't have. Money is a strong drug, you cant never have enough.

Re: Why are Civics the most stolen?
I use to pop locks at my community college for the security guys all the time, those guys could never use those damn slim jims and neither could I for that matter, and out of all the cars I ever had to get into the Civic was by far the easiest with the design of the jam, placement and design of the lock, and because retards always leave their windows cracked in the summer.

Re: Why are Civics the most stolen?
most ofnthe stuff in this thread are pretty stupid
its because their
A easy to steal
B their parts are in demand
thats it
its not hard stealing a car
stripping it and makin some bank as well as using parts on ur own car(most theives are honda owners)
success rate in car theft is something like 65%
on hondas it shoudl be way higher somemthing like 80%

You are one dumb ****. Besides the fact your wrong, your saying someone is stupid when you don't know how to even come remotely close to proper grammar. Oh yeah and btw have you ever seen that key next to the "A," I always thought it was pretty self explanatory but I will go ahead and explain it for you. CAP stands for Capital when your letters are big like that hit that key.

Re: Why are Civics the most stolen?
I used to think that boosting cars was the ****..I got into it at about 12, My grandfather had been doing it for like..30 years, it was dumb easy to just sit in his garage learn everything I needed to learn and then go out and try it myself...At 26, far more mature..I can stress enough how foolhardy and wrong it is to steal a car, however, I don't ignore that not everyone's life situation accomidates "THe RIght Way" and some people have to do what they need to do to get where they need to go. I'd be lying if I said I've never purchased a stolen part or motor, or have done the stealing myself..but nowadays I can say that i'm as legit as they come..and I've secured my car as needed to keep it where it is on a daily.
People steal civics because YES..it's easy. You can steal a Civic with Know How, a Brick, and A Flat head screw driver (For you brutes out there who haven't practiced finess and clean entry), it's a low profile car (Depending on where you are), motor comes out easy, it's Demand is Phenomenal and there is just a surplus of them wherever u are. Where I am..Civics are a TARGET..You drive one..you BETTER have some form of security on it or it's almost a garuntee it won't be there the next morning. Friend of mine came up from VA to visit, parked his car downtown newark to go shopping, came back and it was GONE..literally 1 hour inbetween.
I use Autopage..Full system. Shock sensory, Proximity Sensor, HUD-pager, GPS and Tracking system..someone opens my DOOR without disarming my system I get a text straight to my cell phone telling me..someone MOVES it period, I get live streamed updates as to where my car is going, how fast it's going, the whole 9. I can even Shut my car off from my cell phone IN MOTION if someone else is driving it..or lock or open my doors from a city away.
The one thing we as tuners often overlook.....security. It's as important as any motor swap or engine part u can buy

Re: Why are Civics the most stolen?
heres the answer to all ur questions, hondas are most stolen because we are the only group that stays up all night searching for honda parts. Its a high demand that is met with high supply. Ive never seen someone staying up all night looking for parts for their 1995 corolla. The thieves want to make a quick buck and if ppl are looking for honda stuff all day they want to supply it. we contribute to this because we buy used parts because theyre cheaper, we may never know that our car is stolen parts-free if were buying used. Personally when i go buy something off honda-tech, ill check to make sure that its not stolen if its something big like a car or a swap. but when youre buying things like a block off plate or an airbag, i dont really check. The best we can do is not steal stuff ourselves but im not gonna go around checking if that jdm coin-holder is stolen or not. i dont have time or money to check or buy a new one. and with that gentlemen, ...supply and demand. i gotta get back to work now. lol

Re: Why are Civics the most stolen?
People in European countries are more fortunate the later model civic starting from the EK generation (96-00) all had oem immobilizers......North America didn't get this feature till 2001 on the civic line.
