you may consider the 92-00 civic generations to be the best but they are also the worst in some ways because any asshat can afford one and rice the sh*t out of it...which is what i hate

every honda motor fits pretty much. endless possibilities wich yes come out with some really gay rice buckets, but the ones who do them right and keep them clean love them no matter how much you can spend on a brand new car people will still have little sweet civics blowing by!

and 6th gens are obd2 and still somewhat pricey ~5000 retail. and the average ricer fanboi can afford nice ek parts, or doesn't know how to do the simple obd conversion.
7th gens completely ****ing suck

Best beacuse:
- light weight, more so all the newer gens
- easy to tune, and run or convert to OBDI
- engine swap options are plenty
- chassis is more of a raw driving feeling, FUN!
- they look good
- suspension is top notch in design for what it is
- endless parts options
- cross over from Integra parts
- affordable

best because they look(imo and apparently alot of others) amazing from factory and can be customized a TON of different ways to fit personal needs, styles, etc. I love eg 4drs best!

How is it not I believe is the real question....
To be honest I really try to stay away from what everyone is doing in the import scene, but it doe not get any better than the eg or any easier. You're talking about a lightweight car that is open to practically any swap on the market and the fact that parts are cheap as hell and easy to fix also helps.

EG alll daaayy!! I got my 92 and my pops and friends suggest Oooo wen you get your next car its gonna be like a 98 or somethin right? Get the **** outta here......I can't stand the big head lights from 96 and up!!!

well most people already said it...
92-95 looks very good from factory because it has that no-grille hood/bumper look which is fantastic! I also like the door handle design very much unique and simple.
EG all the way! I have had around 9 EGs already in 8 yrs. And guess what? I never had any major problems with any of them at all. Just regular maintenance.
But I guess I will say that's old news.

They're cheap. Easy to work on. Lots of parts availability. They start out so low on the food chain that they need modding. So people love to use them as project cars. Modding is fun. You can put on a $5 ebay intake and make power. They look good. The parts from faster models of civics and integras are interchangeable, so you can have a very reliable, factory part built 12 or 13 sec car that still gets 30MPG. etc etc.
The Civic also sucked between 01-05. So the 92-00 stayed supreme. The 06+ civics are def. a better platform overall, though.
The advantage to the 92-00 is the front wishbone suspension...but the chassis dynamics of the 06+ are still way better.
The advantage of the 92-00 over the 88-91 is that the chassis is WAY more substantial and stiffer. EFs are like wet noodles. The 92-00 also have more safety features, modern dash designs, and a coupe body style. Most would argue that 92-00s also look better. But...there is a strange allure from the EF.
