Unfortunate.
I'd still rather have B and body pannels that fit
But seriously, function over form. Whatever you need to do to make it work. Way better alternative then this **** that was selling his sol with a hole cut in the hood

Obviously, $4 is more than it "costed" to go to school. No, it won't screw up anything, unless you drive under a waterfall. Your engine bay is designed to withstand a bit of water.

SINCE...ready? the h2b kit was released.
and that **** you're speaking of had to cut it or pop it up like so. in most cases, people still have to cut the webbing underneath the hood.
and for everyone's knowledge, the hood is poppedup like that so air can flow into the engine bay and push the "hot" air out underneath the car. you'll see a few boosted setups doing this.

Im last time i checked old *** VWs were air cooled, not Honda's.
That looks ******* retarded and i challenge anyone to find me hard data that proves raising your hood to make it look like a cheap ebay knockoff will cool your engine any more efficiently.
Ohhh wait this is that new spark plug cooling method that gives like 10hp at the wheels, **** i forgot.

if a hood tilt doesn't work, then I guess tilting your sunroof open doesn't cool down the cabin...

can you search on cowl induction? and tell me what you think.

Actually you are right I would. I however could care less if someone drops washer in their hood hinge. But I dont care if people put gay ricer lights on either after all I dont have to drive it.

WOW...2 of the same gay *** posts in one day.
This tilt hood thing doesn't really work that well. Cold air from outside is pushed into the engine bay. Really we want the opposite, heat being REMOVED from the engine bay.
Read up on airflow sometime if you have the chance.
Over the hood and the top of the car there is a high pressure zone created which will pull air from the lower pressure zone (inside the engine bay or passenger cabin)
At the back of the hood near the windshield, the same thing is NOT happening.
I don't know how to explain it with the right technical words but where the hood meets windshield, there is not a higher pressure zone outside the car (I think it has to do with aerodynamics, how the curvature of the car changes there), so air isn't pulled out, it is pushed in, and not that well by the way.
All the D1 drift cars have vents in their hood for a reason. Notice none of them rock the tilted hood?
AND IT LOOKS GAY AS FAWK. LIKE YOU GOT IN AN ACCIDENT AND **** DOESN'T FIT RIGHT.

Oh, and if your car is mostly stock (I have built motor and turbo system) than there is no reason you should be doing this.
If your car is overheating, you have bigger problems than hood tilting can solve.

You are all little fairy ***** if you think doing this serves any other purpose other than making you look like complete douche bags. If it does "cool" the engine bay, then it's by such a miniscule amount that it wont solve any overheating problem, whatsoever, nor give you any mad tite jdm horse power boost. I hate you all.

i like the look alot and like the function, but water and a running engine with a lot of electrical stuff dont mixed. I would love it if there was swith that would lower/raise the hood so everytime it would start raining i would flip the switch and watch my hood go down and seal my MOTOR from the elements

Yes, but he didn't tilt the hood. he just straight cut a hole. He could have popped it, and yes, he could have cut JUST the webbing but he didn't. I know you have to do it for an H2B or H2D, but not for just a straight H22.

There is a HUGE difference between cowl induction hoods on real cars and spacers put on econboxes.

You don't SUCK air into your car, the hot air escapes through the cracked sunroof. This brings us right back to the it won't make any noticeable difference.
Hopefully Archi will pop in and tell all you little **** nuts off.

Another thing you have to look at is the path of air through the engine bay with a hood tilt. Your air is being drawn up from the road under the bumper (or through the mouth if you removed your A/C or A/C Blockoff).
What's the closest thing to your bumper mouth? Why, it's the hottest exterior part of your engine: the exhaust manifold. The principal of thermodynamic equilibrium would indicate that when two different temperatures are put together, each will change until they are equal. Hot + Cold = Warm
So now you've got warmed air that's being drawn up over the cylinder head and intake, and intake manfold, that will in turn equalize.
Long story short: It's a warm-air-induction setup.

You really don't need a higher pressure zone pushing air from inside to outside for this technique to work. Hotter air expands and creates its own pressure, Similar to what someone else said about cracking the sunroof.
It will only be functional for boosted cars, but it's not even that bad. IMO, crazy *** neon colored body kits or primered cars look far worse.
