iuse the cheapest 5w30 i can find, which is from walmart, i'd rather use cheap oil and change it more frequently than expensive oil where the interval between changes is greater

Or you can use really good stuff and change it just as often... lol, just gives you that peace of mind

Actually pretty decent strategy....
I use Chevron Supreme 5W-30, get it on sale at Kragen's....

I use the German Castrol Syntec 0w30 full synthetic (if it doesn't say made in Germany, its not the same one). After breaking in the motor with regular Castrol GTX, I switched to full synthetic and ever since my engine consumes A LOT less oil.

Amsoil ASL 5-30 in I/E d15b7
Mobil 1 5-20 in R18 (new civic)
Castrol GTX 5-30 winter, 10-30 summer, 96 cavalier

b18c1 stock. using eneos 5w40. in my experience this oil holds up better under hard driving compared to mobil, royal purple, and castrol.

94 Hatch D15B (SOHC Vtec):
I use Royal Purple 10W30. I don't tend to use conditioners, but I have used Restore before. I got it @ Advance Auto Parts. It worked well for my Accord with 170XXX + (F22 motor), never burned any oil. I have always used K + N oil filters.
I highly recommend the Royal Purlple Synchromax manual transmission fluid, especially for hard driving applications. They also make ATF, and coolant additives, which I also use and recommend.

I got agree here but instead of the 10w30 i use 5w30 and there synchromax manual transmission fluid
