1992-1993 Civic EX and Si valve covers do not say "VTEC" on them. The same goes for the 1993 del Sol Si and the 1992-1993 Civic VX.

1994-1995 Civic EX and Si valve covers do say "VTEC" on the valve cover.

Since this post was linked-to in a recent thread ... I feel obliged to resurrect it from the dead -- I'm surprised this info isn't in here:

The 94/95 Civic VX says "VTEC-E" on the valve cover.


(also ... the Canadian Civic EX-V was only offered in 1992)

It's hard to see in this picture. But it's just like everyone else's, just about.

P.S. Don't mind the dirty engine bay. =/ I need to do a heavy detail job.

I used to have a D16Z6 motor in my 94 Civic Coupe Ex before I droped a B16 and Yes the valve cover did say "VTEC"
