Trouble starting my civic
Hi
I have a '92 civic si that is difficult to start. Usually I have to crank atleast 2 times to start it up (with grinding noise every time). Other times it just are grinding and nothing more happens. So when I use my car I usually park so I can roll and start that way. There is nothing wrong when the engine is running.
I can add that I have changed the starter earlier because the teeth was damaged, but nothing changed with the new starter. I have removed the starter and tested it, and it appears to work fine. One theory I have is that the teeth on flywheel are slightly damaged (difficult to spot without removing the gearbox) but is that even likely? I have always believed that the metal used on flywheel are much harder than the starter.
I have actually bought a used flywheel in good shape, but is there any point removing the gearbox to inspect at all?
I hope that someone in here can shed some light on my problem, in advance thanks..
