Timing belt need help!
I have a honda civic 1999, im putting a new timing belt I lined up the crankshaft with the harmonic balancer to the arrows on the cover and i lined up the camshaft to the arrows on the side. When I slide the timing belt on all the tension is on the right side and theres slack on the left so when i tighten the pulley, it turns the crank counterclockwise about 1/2 a tooth even a bit more i tried to move all the slack to the right but i cant. I already tried searching this up but I didnt come across anything. This is my first timing belt ive ever done on my own. thanks for the help. Im also new to the forum.

Make sure everything is lined up install the belt with tension side last, don't tighten up the tensioner just yet, now rotate the crank 3 degrees clockwise then rotate is back 3 degrees counter clockwise if at this stage everything lines up then the tension is set, just tighten up the tensioner, rotate the crank twice and check timing mark if it lines up your done,

I tried this method. What ends up happening is since theres slack on the left side my timing mark ends being on the left past the arrow. I think my camshaft timing is off is it suppose to be exactly at 12 O clock? I have it lined up with the arrows on the side which makes it look like its at 11. Thanks for the help.
