i am in the process of installing my spoon calipers and the 2 outer pistons won't compress. It has two bleeders and i bled the inside first. Does it matter which one comes first? I pinched the brake line and just bled front brakes. Any help is appreciated.

You need to use like a C-clamp or monkey wrench to compress the caliper I belive. Mainly due to the force you need to use something that will press the caliper(s) in

i have no problem having the pistons being pushed in....the outer 2 pistons doesnt work meaning when i press on the break....no action takes place w/ the outer 2 pistons

if there are 2 brake lines. assuming one line controls two pistons. yo need to blee both. open brake reservoir cap, pump,pump,pump and hold, open bleeder,shut bleeder, repeat/ best if you attach an open line running from bleeder to cup of fluid that way you know when all the bubbles are pushed out. peace

are these calipers new?

yes the calipers are new and there is only one brake line that controls the spoon calipers. Calipers supposedly factory specs..........stock itr pads, rotors, and lines

is it necessary to bleed all four or doing the front is sufficient enough? I clamped the front brake lines so no fluids would come out.

I would do all 4 wheels anytime regardless. As to your pistons, something is wrong. I have had trouble with Wilwood's doing this. By their design they are far less forgiving as to having any angle on the piston pressure at all as you are trying to compress them. For one reason or another your pistons are binding and air will not cause this. I would crack the bleeders open and try to compress them and then do a full bleed. the interior of the caliper is chambered for individual piston setups so there are multiple bleeders for a reason. Air can hide in multiple locations and fluid will always take the path of least resistance.

if you still have no luck then you will want to return them, if you aren't willing to do that. Remove them. Take some pressurized air or go to a shop, and blow air into the caliper popping the pistons out. You can then inspect for the reason of the bind, lubricate the previously dry walls with brake fluid and ensure that everything is working properly. Go slow and don't nic the seals or your down and out. If there is any vertical scoring on the walls then reassemble them and return them.

If they were new then they should have been compressed already? How did the pistons extend in the first place?

the two pistons closer to the motor works...the other two outside the pistons doesn't show pressure. Stays stationary when you apply the brakes. hold on, we may have some confusion. Are the pistons not going out(as they should when presssing the pedal) or not going in (as if you were compressing them to install pads)?

pistons on the outer calipers(w/ 2 pistons) won't press. Stays stationary

that didn't answer my question but if the problem is them moving out, not in, then it is most likely a bleed issue and easily fixed. If they won't go in manually then they are binding.

maybe they need to be broken in... maybe they have been sitting like that for quite some time, that you just need the break the seal... make sure you bled them correctly, then dismount them from the knuckles. keep the brake lines attached, and try to clamp down the two pistons that compress fine. then step on the brake pedal to force the other two pistons out. maybe once it comes out, it would operate correctly. just be careful not to bring the pistons out toooo far.. not sure if this will work, but it is worth giving a try...
