Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
Well, due to that storm our business was closed today, not great for our wallets, but it did give me some time to get in the shop. So after i got the heat on and cleaned up a bit i did some work.
Got the tank out
Got everything out of the bay, should be ready to be cleaned up and resprayed after i get the fenders off. Also removed the k member and all of the front suspension.
I never showed pics of the interior so heres a few
I have a lot of parts that are gathering up. Hopefully i can sell some of them.

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
It is turning out to be a fun project. Hopefully i can get the trans out of the fox here soon. Need to get that thing going for next season.
Doing a lot of research on converting the rear to disk brakes. Its hard to get a straight answer from any thread. Im going to try to get all the answers i need by this weekend. and atleast get parts ordered. Any advice is deff. welcome!

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
update with some plans,
This weekend i plan to get the engine bay cleaned up for paint. Going to spray it the same color for now, i plan to get the car painted but that will be after it is up and running. At that point i will weld up all the holes in the bay and smooth it out a little. Also plan to get the interior ready for paint. Have a few small holes in the trunk to weld now that the tank and lines are out.
I am looking into swapping to rear disks from a 99 si. I am going to get a new booster as the master was leaking into it. New master cyl( not sure which yet, i think the one from a si is a 7/8 and im not sure if that will work out or not). I will most likely replace all the lines while i have them out. And i will try to find a prop valve. As for trailing arms and parking brake cables, i will just have to start hunting around for them. If anyone has a better idea, or has done it before any advice is welcomed. I have been reading as much as possible but there are a ton of posts and lots of different mindsets.
And lastly i plan on figuring out a way to safely vent the gas tank without the stock canister. I will probably get a drainable catch can or something.
If i get anything good done i will take some pictures.
Thanks everyone

you can use trailing arms out of any rear disc civic (up to 00)/integra. the only things you can't use are the control arms or toe arms unless they came from a 96-00. you could also just swap the spindle portion if you want and use your oem trailing arms.
you can use the proportioning valve out of a 96-00 hatch or dx/hx coupe. 7/8 is oem ex/si. 98 integra rs is 15/16. 98+ integra with abs is 1". any of those will work.

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
Over the weekend i got the fenders and hood off the car. Got the upper arms out, and this week i plan to start sanding the engine bay for paint. Im going to try to make it look as good as possible, but after i get this thing together i plan to get the car painted anyway.
Here is a pic of how it sits now, more to come as i make progress.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Also, i think i have figured out the rear brake setup.I plan to run,
Scarebird brackets
Si rear calipers and rotors
Si parking brake cables
SS lines
Si prop valve
1 inch master from a 98+ teg

Nice build. I would suggest looking into the walboro 400 for fuel plans. Wasn't available when I built mine so I ended up running full blown twin walboros. I haven't done much research into the 400's but the few post I have read has been good and should be a fairly cheap route as opposed to sumping. I'll keep you posted on the my full blown (twin 255 walboros ...-8 an feed -6 an return ..10 micron filter..aem rail..can't remember fpr brand..and bestof all id2000's..) set up that I have within the next few weeks when car
gets done. I'm wanting to run e85 as well.

Thanks for the kind words. I had a few lucky breaks with learning. I got started early, and went to school to get certified. I was a line tech before i was 20, now im 22, and trust me i have a TON of stuff to learn. Anyway, post up some pics of your car, i would love to see.

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
sorry for the shitty pics but it was the only thing i have on my phone. if u look closely u could see the 10 micron filter against the firewall as well as the fpr. hopefully my bay/car will look as clean as yours one day but as for now im mainly focused on getting the car back on the road hopefully without any hiccups then work on body down the road. ill try to get more pics full blown setup as well as steel braided hoses underneath the car. by the way vc is just a temp to keep out debris while vented vc is getting powder coated. how much power are you looking to make on your build? depending on your goals theres quite a few high hp stock sleeve builds out there.
sorry for sideways pics....

Great info, i appreciate it. I dont mind swapping out trailing arms, or using mine as i will replace the bushings anyway. I doubt they make a "performance" trailing arm so stock will work just fine im sure. Is a 1'' master a good idea, or just overkill?

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
What calipers will fit the rear scarebird brackets that are larger than an si caliper? And what are you running on yours for front brakes? I would rather bigger brakes so any info is welcomed

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
on the rear you could use rsx/ep3 or dc2 itr. 02-03 si 4x100 rotors. to use base rsx or ep3 calipers you would have to grab the ebrake levers off a rear disc 88-00 civic or integra though. of course this is not recommended with a 10" front brake setup.
i am running nsx calipers up front.

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
I bought the fuel lines and fuel filter as a kit for the full blown set up from b&r fittings. Check them out. I'm sure u could peice it all together but b&r had a kit for it and saved me the hassle. They have great customer service and I would definitely recommend them

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
Mine is just capped off. Pretty sure isn't the best way to do things but since the car isn't done yet I can't tell you much about it. Fingers crossed.. hope I won't run into any problems with that but will let you know once things are up and running assuming that everything else is in working order. Haha every time i get closer to being done I get more nervous and am afraid that I might I have missed something. A friend did this to his turbo teg and seems to be fine with no fumes or problems as to date so I'm just kinda copying his setup.if u want I could get pics of it.

Made some progress today, got all of the seam sealer out of the bay. Got some color mixed up and picked up some good primer and clear. Got most of the bay sanded. Hopefully will be in primer tomorrow. Ready to start buying go fast parts!

Re: Slow boys ej8 build. Built gsr, Turbo. Slow progress.
Got the bay compleatly sanded, primed and painted. Removed 99 percent of all the seam sealer, and removed the sound deading material from under the wiper motor and linkage. i will paint that area black. Resprayed the bay factory color and i will clear it tomorrow. Didnt turn out to hateful. I hate painting.
