You're an idiot... wow 65 posts and already down to 98% good stuff.

To the original poster, I've heard about many people using it with no ill effects, just use a small amount at a time. Gumout used to sell a similar product and Honda even sells a product (atleast they used to) called top end cleaner. Just if you do it, like I said only draw a small amount in at a time.

Use BG 44K. it is really good for carbon on valves. Pour it in your gas, Cleans entire fuel system

I have used it in just about every car my family has ever owned and it has done okay for me. It's gunna smoke like a bitch though. Make sure you FOLLOW the directions on the bottle.

i used to use seafoam on my old 84 bronco 2, worked pretty well.... i'm a little sketchy on adding it to the crankcase as the seafoam must be fairly volatile, and i'm not too sure how it would react with the oil....

other than that, i give it a for the top end of the motor.

Don't some people use Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner? for cleaning valves and lifter tick? I know the DSM guys use it.

You can also just use water. There's a thread about it on http://www.freshalloy.com in the "advanced" section of the Nissan 240 section.

Im planning on doing the seafoam thing before I chainge my oil. This weekend. I figure ill put in in the day before so it will have a chance to work its magic and then Ill change it out.

The only thing Ive come accross that scared me was that it could break loose large deposites in your crank case and then those chunks could clog or brake something. Kinda like a stoke.

And the only other thing that im kinda iffy on is if this stuff is good for the valve seals and other non metal parts in the engine that come in contact with the oil.
