Default Revved to 9300rpm and i think i broke sumthan...NEED HELP!!!

I got a b16a1 with civic type R cams with stock valves an springs an **** and AEM camm gears. On top of the usual mods i got a skunk2 chip put'n vtec at 4900 rpm. Jus the other night i revved it to 9300 for the first time (ive revved to 9k before) and now things sound "funny"...I hear all this loud clattering in the engine bay and it sounds like its all clattering up in the head of the engine sumwhere. ALSO my exhaust (apex'i gt) does sound diifferent kinda lil muffled if you know what i mean..SO WHAT DID I BREAK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? All responses most appreciated.

Do a compression test and post up the results.

I'm not a pro but I think you could have floated a valve and it got hit by a piston.

Ill do the compression test but you guys think its just damage to a valve or sum valves? Or is the piston damaged also? I wanna kno as much before i start taking things apart THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE, SO I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY!!!

Well your first problem is your an Idiot. I'm sorry but its true. I vote this thread Fail of the Year.

Ahh, I really thought this was a joke, If you would have taken 6 seconds to check wikipedia.org you would have seen that the redline on a B16A1 is 8200 rpm not 9300 and no matter what the guy that sold you the "skunk 2 chip" said you engine doesn't make power after 8k rpm. There are so many different problems you could have caused.
For example:

Timing belt skipped a tooth and now your valves are making out with your pistons.

Bent valve

Broken valve

Broken valve spring

Cracked/ broken rings

Holy pistons

On top of those possible problems theres a good chance that you warped the head.

I think you broke sumthan too.

or you may have had something in the valvetrain loosen up.

check the timing alignment first, then do a valve adjustment and see if you have some loose clearances. may possibly have destroyed the LMA's as well

do a leak down test and it will show it there if any valves are bent and where and yeah your lucky you didnt spin a bearing at 9000

I think you just floated a valve, because if it has went to 9k rpms before then it shouldn't have done too much.. it is probably just stressin the engine and everything.. do the leakdown test and check the valves..

WTF?? the bottom end can handle 9000 rpm in stock form no problem. /educational moment. the head is another story

Yep, or he tossed a clip or two!

Reading your sig - I'm curious...

Are you running the old skool LMAs with the tapered plungers or the new S2000 spring style LMAs???

FTW!!! STRETCHED CONNECTING ROD!!!!!!! THE PISTON IS NOW CONTACTING THE CYLINDER HEAD!!!! if all he did was float a valve there wouldn't be a mechanical noise just a misfire at idle that would probably clear up.. other possibility is that u broke a valve spring... BUT AGAIN IS THE ENGINE MISFIRING??? if so and all you have is the noise your bout to sling a rod in my opinion...

take the valve cover off and start it and see whats making the noise. or just feel each rocker arm and see if one came lose because at 9300 Rpm thats a **** load of vibrations and could caused a rocker arm to losen up a little and that will make the exhaust sound a little funny. kinda like its bogged down and has bad fuel but still run good. Why 9300 Rpms though? Why Not 10,300 that woulda been cool but really no point. if you knew you were going to go to 9300 you shoulda made a video so we can hear what a B16A1 sounds like right before it comes apart! Good Luck Man !

a guy locally missed a gear and revved to 13k....needless to say he [freak]ed up a piston bad. lol he showed me the piston and it looked like a ring around the outside of the piston and then shredded metal in the middle and the whole was practically the entire size of the piston. LOL

op: make sure you do a comp test and post up your results. if you have one cylinder that is alot lower than the rest then you have messed something up. i have heard a leakdown test is better for telling if you have a bent valve so also try that one. i would bet you will have to replace your valvesprings and retainers at least. good luck.
