recirculation mode problem

recirculation mode problem
I have honda civic eg 1992.
I noticed that my car recirculation mode is not working properly. It supposedly blocking the outside air coming inside the cabin. But when driving on that mode, I can feel the outside air blowing through the vent.
I tried google but no luck. Does anyone knows how to fix this problem? Please help.

Re: recirculation mode problem
Put on recirculation mode, turn off the air cond...then just drive, the air blows from the vent like then you put on fresh air mode.... And also you can smell the outside air getting inside the cabin.... Such exhaust fume, carnage smell when you pass a carnage truck and if I drove behind diesel truck the fume also getting inside the cabin...
Any idea how to fix this? I think maybe the flap is not closing the air route properly. But I need a guide where is the flap position and how to fix it....

The vent for the recirculation is on the passenger side, You might wanna investigate if its opening/closing. To really see the flap you need to remove the windshield cowl and there will be an opening the size of a rectangle.

Re: recirculation mode problem
Open your glove box.
Press the button and and off a few times while the car is on.
You should see and hear the flap close.
If it's not then either the button or motor has gone out.
If you just want to you can manual close it by pushing on the flap.

from a 00 civic but same setup.
The grills you see when you open the glove box is where the fan takes in air.
Press the button and and off a few times while the car is on.
