I just replaced the r&P with a rebuilt one from O'reilly (first mistake). Please tell me that the seals will seat??? Yea right. Jesus, I really do not want to pull it apart again. The fluid level is a little above the full line, would that cause it to leak? If I remove fluid will it stop? I got a bad feeling I will be replacing it AGAIN...

I have not checked napa. The part was lifetime, I wonder if I should take the chance and return it and get a new one, or take the money and look around? I really do not want to redo this... I can't believe its leaking. Its only been in for like two weeks!!!!!!!!!!!

whatever you do dont go auto zone. i helped someone pull a bent subframe out of an old *** accord just to change the rack and when we finally got it in and pulled the plug out of the holes the threading was fuct. I would go in there and see what they say before you pull it

Can you tell exactly where it's leaking from?

An overfilled reservoir will only cause a leak from the reservoir itself. Double check all your work. It could be one of the lines going into the steering gearbox that's leaking. Be sure it's the actual rack before you go ahead and remove it...

I got up underneath and its leaking from the passenger side boot air tube. I also checked the driver side and the boot has PS fluid on it, but it did not seem to be leaking as much - just a slight sheen.

I actually bought the R&P at Autozone, not O'reilly. I have contacted their regional manager explaining that I want my money back, AND a core of some type to return.

What is everyone's thought on the reman'd vs new from Majestic Honda??? Thanks!

You should be able to find a used rack pretty cheap and turn that in for the core, especially if you can find one that leaks.

Again, what P/S fluid did you run?

Master Pro - it said it was for Honda use. The pump is not leaking, but the rack is.

Thanks! Looks like I'm going to have to start saving my pennies!! I still do not understand how a reman'd R&P can crap out within two weeks!!! Don't they replace all the seals and parts? Or do monkeys assemble these things? Like I said half of the hydraulic lines were loose and had to be tightened before install. Plus it seems like someone took black paint and painted the body, boots, everything! What kind of quality control is that??

I've heard that all the cores collected go to some massive place where people just replace the boots and then turn around and sell them. It's cheaper for them to just give u a replacement in case there is a problem then to fix them/rebuild them correctly.
