Problem with car, please help
Car 2000 Civic Si with I/H/E
I'm having a strange problem with my car... I was just driving through town maybe 2800rpms and the power started cutting out completely, almost like it was getting no fuel or spark and it would kick back on in less than a second. I've had this problem before but it has only happened maybe 5 times total in 3 months. This time it started happening maybe 30 seconds apart and continually got worse and worse until I slowed down at a red light and it shut off. I can get the car to start right up, but it only runs for a few seconds and dies out unless I'm on the throttle hard. Can someone please give me some opinions?

Re: Problem with car, please help
I have a code for cat/o2 sensor since I have a test pipe so I'm not sure if any new ones have popped up. I have had low voltage tps and low voltage map before. The guy I bought it from had the wires to both twisted and electrical taped, but I soldered them after those codes.
Plugs are newish, less than 5k, wires appear to be good, they're blue ngks, the guy said he replaced the cap and rotor, but ill pick one up in the morning to be sure.

Pull the CEL codes and post them. Then reset the ECU and drive the car to see which codes repeat.
Remove the cap and inspect the contact points inside the cap and on the rotor. If there's corrosion but not a lot of wear, just clean the contact points.

Re: Problem with car, please help
It was definitely the cap and rotor, it had a bunch of corrosion so i just went ahead and replaced it. It runs A LOT better now. Thanks for the help.
