Re: (Sir_Wallace)
The best way to get a shine on the lettering would be to sand it with 400 then 800 before you paint it. Once you have it all shiney, paint it. Then take some laquer thinner or reducer and wipe the lettering off. It comes off way easier than if you just paint it and try to take the paint off the lettering with thinner. And it looks way better too with the polished look. Looks good!!!

Word. I'm going to hold off painting that because
A- I'd need high temp paint
2- I have a 4-2-1 I'll be putting on in the spring. Just waiting to get a basline dyno. I know better than to expect alot, but shoot if it hurts performance I want to know that too. I'm hoping to get a baseline Dyno run in at Carlisle.

I am hoping the paint will hold up. High Temp paint is aimed at areas that will approach 600 degrees. I would HOPE that the valve cover never exceeds 200 degrees, or even 150. Think about it, even after hard running is it too hot to touch? kinda I guess, but I don't think it's too hot to cook the paint. If it does flake off, I guess I'll just put in a B16, or powder coat that one.
*edit*
Oh I forgot. I used a semigloss on the wiper arms and it turned out pretty nice. I don't have a mechanical sander or paint thinner, so I didn't surface prep as well as I'm supposed to, but doesn't really show through. I would have taken pictures of that but the car is so dirty from sitting in storage (it's a barn next to a wood-workers shop) and I felt it was embarassing. Word.
