Default p28 ecu question.

I really dont know where to put this.. but since this ecu is from a civic, I figured Id ask here.

I bought what was advertised as a virgin p28 5 speed ecu from someone on this forum for my integra gsr that Im going to turbocharge in a couple months.. anyways, I opened the p28 up,

I took some quick pics with my phone... theyre shitty but the best I can do.

[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

I didnt take a picture of the outside.. but the sticker says 37820-P28-A01, so why does the sticker on the outside say 37820-P06-A51.. so did I get ripped off? is this really a automatic p06?

Thanks for any help

That ecu is an automatic non-vtec obd1 p06-a51 ecu.
Looks like you have been ripped off by who ever you bought it from.

You should have just bought a chipped/socketed unit from us

The P06 and the P28 is full compatible, except the P06 has no Vtec control.
But it has option for the Vtec.

Maybe this "someone" swapped a p06 to a p28 case...

thats what I'm thinking.
but if I wanted to get a p06 ecu I could have gotten one for cheaper.
and if I wanted to be lied to, I would have just asked someone to scam me, ****. This is unacceptable.
I dont want to have to pay extra to have it converted or anything when I get it chipped for my turbo kit, thats why I bought it for what I did when I could have gotten a p06 for less.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Yeah, I hope you can get your money or something. Or some money back then convert to VTEC capability.

well you can always convert it to vtec, and chip the thing your self. it's a pain, but you can do it... also paypal should give you your cash back.

I think the point is though he didn't have to pay for a P28 price ($150ish) when he could've bought a P06 for $60.

Sucks...

I paid for a p28.
I got a p06, why should I do convert this, and pay more for a kit.. 33 dollars, when I already should have a vtec ecu.
It's not worth the pain.
It was supposed to be a virgin p28 from a 5 speed ecu, not a converted p06.
I am filling out my paypal dispute now.
hopefully everything works out okay.. the guy I obught it from hasnt been on HT for like 2 weeks, so I hope he didnt abandon everyone.
He sold like 2 or 3 more to other people. I'm not sure if he scammed them, or if he even knew, but he should make it right no matter what.

See I bought an ECU from the same guy that numbnuts22715 did. I opened mine up and the sticker on the ECU pinout has been ripped off but they made a mistake and didnt tear it all out.... says p06-a51 as well... I filed my dispute just a few mins ago. Thanks for the heads up bro!

As for paypal, if he escalated it to a claim, Paypal will make the decision about the claims. I am going to see if I could contact the admins on here to get the IM history from the guy, since it has been more than 7 days. On a side note man, there is a return address on the usps packaging

well I emailed him, I'm going to try to see if he responds before I post his name on here.
He's definitely not a nice guy, because it's two of us now that he's ripped off.
Paypal is such bs. They dont do anything ever.
When I go to get it tuned, I guess I'll just have to pay extra to get all the stuff I need done, done to it.

nah I know.
I'm gonna talk to my tuner to see how much he charges to convert it all.
I also called paypal, and they said that if more people come forward about it, paypal can reopen the claim and do something about it.
