So i tryed this in my D15B and my idle raised to like 1100 rpms.... I had to drop it to 700 800 other than that, no problems so far i have taken my car 120 miles and finally used 1/4 tank of gas

I think I wanna do this to my B18C swapped EM1, but I too am a puss.
Anyone near augusta, ga that has done this and wants to walk me through it??
And, how long of a "spirited" drive is needed to get it to stop smoking??

Re: (mugenej8power)
The acutal concern regarding Seafoaming a turbo car is siezing up your turbo's oil feed.
Boosted cars have higher oil temps, nothing you can do about that. The turbo heats the oil. If your car has not been properly turbo-timed since day one, or you ever run it hot and shut it off, the oil does not get a chance to cool down to regular temps normally. This can leave a residue or film from rapid cooling. The film is composed of some of the additives in the oil that can get separated out at higher temperatures.
Whether factually based or not, the concern is that running seafoam through your crankcase will clean any of this residue/film off your oil passages and it may get stuck in your turbo's oil feed, or bearing, causing it to sieze.
If your oil feed is directly off your oil filter sandwich adapter, you really have nothing to worry about. If your oil feed is teed off your oil pressure sender, there may be concern. The oil pressure sender is almost at the end of your oiling system. The oil is picking up contaminants (more so during Seafoam cleaning) on it's path up the block, through the cyl head, and out the oil presssure sender into your turbo.
Just because 10 people or 100 people haven't had it happen to them, doesn't mean it won't happen to you, if the right conditions are present.

Re: (Doeboy)
I did this to me miata, when I still had it. The smoke was so bad I thought for sure that the engine was going to blow up. But it didn't. Everything was fine.

hey when you go to use it through your gas tank make sure your running supreme gas. Seafoam is a detergeant so it will lower the octane of the gas.. and with a snail be carefull.

A simple description is a detergent for your engine. I cleans off carbon deposits and sludge. Cleans your fuel system. You can find it at Autozone and stores like Kragen I believe.

I want to try this on my next oil change, and I'll take pictures and inform you guys on the results! But I have a question, how many miles would you recomend I change my oil ? I used Mobil 1, 10-w30 oil on my 94 del Sol VTEC ( 75,000 miles, stock engine, stock rev limiter). I only have like 1 day a week of spirited driving, every other day I barely even hit VTEC. Thanks!
