It could be the old leak that's still there. Did you try cleaning it up and wait for a day or so to see if they come back?

i degreased it and sprayed it off, took it around the block, came home and popped the hood and there was a leak there.

When you replaced that O ring on distributor, did you clean the hole where distributor goes in really well? If you didn't, then you will have leak like that because oil is like that. It comes out with other leftover oils pass through any seals. Take the distributor out, clean the distributor head really well, clean the engine side too. Till dry. Put it back in. Don't let any oil comes out.see if that fixes.

i didnt replace it, a guy that worked for honda did, but ill try what you said.

i checked my o-ring today its still good and new no cracks or tears whats so ever, but the leak has gotten really bad, i had to park the car because im losing so much oil, what should i do? and where is the shaft seal located?

yes its the oem honda o-ring and there is a little but of oil in the distributor.

A. did you install the o-ring properly meaning installed around the distribuator properly cuz you cant just throw it on it goes on a certain way and if its on backwards it will leak.

There should be ZERO oil inside the distributor. Replace the internal seal. See FAQs sticky.

Default oil leak

still have the same oil leak on my transmission have replaced, both seals in my dizzy thats nice and dry now and ive replaced the vtec selonoid seal and i also put honda bond seems kinda wet dont know what to do about it. put some honda bond on my valve cover, no leaks form there. also after i run it for a awhile when i come home and pop the hood i can hear a dripping noise sounds like it might be in my header but i cant tell anyways if you guys have any ideas please let me know ive been fighting this oil leak for months and ive got oil spots everywhere.

i dont see any fresh oil just residue. but i would say intake manifold if you already (properly) reseal solenoid and dizzy.


look at your intake manifold is it oily?

no thats fresh oil i promise, i degreased it and had it bone dry drove around alittle bit today hitting vtec a few times and some oil came out, just checked the intake manifold and it is oily, what does it need?

You said you replaced VTEC gasket. But what about the top solenoid gasket? It seems to be coming from there. Number 15 in the picture below.

im gonna be replacing that seal tommorow, i checked it earlier and there was oil on it and the seal is hard as a rock.

Had the same problem. That oil comes out when engine is in high load, especially during VTEC kick.

also ive got my cel light on because of the vtec oil pressure could that be causing it?

his intake manifold is oily, most likely cause would be valve cover gasket.........
