The car doesn't overheat because it sounds like your thermostat is stuck open. Coolant keeps going through not allowing your engine to warm up. If the thermostat was consistently closed, then you would have overheating issues. I'd say that's your safest and easiest place to start looking. A new thermostat and some coolant is cheap too

yes but if the thermostat is stuck open the temp would be staying on cold not reading right but mine reads normal temp.

Try flushing the heater core. It may be clogged. If flushing doesn't help, you may need to replace it.

I'll second the thermostat. It may not be stuck all the way open. I had the same problem in an Integra I had. The car would have luke warm heat and the operating temperature of the car (when cold out) would get a little over the line for cold when it's supposed to be about half way. I replaced the thermostat and all was well.

Not likely if the temperature is normal. Back to what Ron said, its probably the heater core. Try flushing it first with an acid flush. If that doesn't work it may need to be replaced.

omg.. maybe the guy you bought it from knew there was an existing problem with the heater core. How trustworthy is the person?

x2 thermostat, had one stay open on me and I had thought the temp looked normal.

if it's not that, x2 on the flush

My eg used to blow "warm" air and after a solid 45 minutes of driving that **** was a flame thrower lol...we're talking about 15 yr old cars here, they're going to have some quirks.

Was there pressure and/or heat in the upper and lower radiator hose? Did you know if the radiator is clogged? Is the radiator cap sealing?

I have this issue ever since I've had my car. It usually warms up in the mornings for about 5 minutes at idle. And then there are times where it doesn't at all until I start driving. At other times while I drive, it's still blowing out cold air and my temperature gauge appears in the normal range. I would beat on the car a little bit and bring the RPM higher and would heat up instantly. I think that relates to a water pump issue to cycle the coolant through faster. I have replaced my thermostat, water pump, and flushed out the coolant.

I'll keep you posted on this, I don't like driving in a ice box either.

the blend door is working ive checked that. it does seem like the heater core is new cause everything under there is new but also if the motor is even cold there is some pressure that comes out of the radiator.

Have you checked the thermostat?
You have been given possible answers to the problem but don't seem to want to listen.

Check thermostat and flush the cooling system then you will know for yourself that these are not the problems.

Well the longer you sit there "listening" the longer you go without heat. How hard is it to check and/or replace a thermostat?

I had the same issue with my EJ8 3 years ago.

Then the car sat outside for 3 years on grass, thru 2 snow seasons, and now the blower is just seized. Heat system is on my list of things to do.
