Get tickets to SEMA next year and sit in all of them. Thats what I did. I thought the Sparco Fighter was the best fit, but I didn't like the missing 5th point. The Recaros are great, but they didn't have all of them (and some were Euro spec so who knows). All the Bride fixed seats are way too small. The cobra ones looked nice, but you will need the bigger GT sizes.

Oh yeah, I'm 6'-1" 190 lbs...

Set a budget then go from there.

If you are, then get Sparco. Nice entry level seats.

If you have money to spend, Bride comes to mind. I use Brix II for a year now, daily driving. I am 180cm and 70kg and I fit in nice. In winter time, the jackets will be in the way but that's the condition I have to deal with. Once you are used to bucket seats, you won't go back.

Daily driving/weekend racer car, I would suggest reclinable. Summer driving/racing only car, I would suggest fixed types.

Happy shopping.

yeah I have a sparco fighter and it fits the best. Im 6' and 180 lbs. and its comfy

biggest problem is that the front end of the seat rolls under so the seat slider cannot sit flush against the bottom of the seat. so I had to raise the front end up with some nuts. One nice feature is that the skin/fabric is designed to be removable easily (however the harness guides are a bit tough to take out) so you can clean the seat and or replace the cover. The cover is only 130 dollars. And your seat will look brand new!!!

i say recaro's. they seem to be made for taller people. the harness hole near the head on brides are a tad bit too low. i have recaro's in my other car and theyre perfect. ctr seats.

you can look on recaro's site and pick out a seat. be prepared to shell out like never before though

I agree with you on your points of fixed vs. reclinable. Also, do you still want to be able to use your rear seats easily? Fixed back seats are a bad idea if you're going to be having passengers in the back a lot, especially in the worst case scenario that you get into an accident and need to get out of the car quickly.

I wouldn't call Sparco's entry level seats though. Its more of a matter of personal preference, as Sparco makes seats ranging from the couple hundred dollar Sprints up to the baller carbon/kevlar racing seats used in FIA rally racing etc.

94eg! had the best advice: if its possible, sit in as many seats as possible. Sparco, Bride, Recaro, Mugen, OMP; all are great seats, its just a matter of personal preference.

In my civic I have the Sparco Torino seats and the FIA Sparco rails. I love how I fit with them. The seat sits lower to the ground, which is perfect for me, since I'm 6'3" tall.

Make sure to get a nice seat rail. I've worked on a car that had Cobra seats and a generic seat rail. It was complete CRAP!!!! The seats sat up so high that my head always hit the roof.

I'm also 240 lbs and don't want to get any larger, as if I was any bigger the seats wouldn't really fit well anymore.

Also, choose a color carefully. Some colors fade or show wear really easy. My Sparco's are black and still look like new! Although, I cover the car a lot and take good care of it.

Most worthless response ever. I think you should sit in a bunch of different seats. Its all personal preference. One person will love a seat and you could hate it. Good luck

I've got TenzoR Rally Seats and find them comfortable. They're not that expensive either.

do NOT get APC or other such shitcrates. They are too flimsy to handle actual road racing or even auto-x. spend some money and get something decent. sparco, bride, recaro and such are good bets. If you really have to go the cheap route check these out, Ive actually sat in these and while not the best out there, they are awesome for the money. Plus they are better then that APC crap.

...and for $209.95 each, its a damn good deal, especially since they include the sliders.
