Need Help Installing Oversized Oil Drain Plug
So the previous owners of my Civic stripped the oil pan drain hole threads. I don't have time or money to buy a new oil pan, so I bought an oversized oil drain plug. The problem is, it won't catch and start tapping itself in when I try to install it. I tried pushing hard while turning at the same time, but it still doesn't catch. Wondering if anyone has a tip or something.

How much bigger is the bolt? Try tapping on the bolt with a hammer, just enough so the 1st thread catches...i think itll be ok. Or measure the plug you have, and bore out the hole to match.

It's a single oversize m14 1.5 bolt. I think I'll just use Honda bond on my old bolt for now and order a new pan later.. hammer did not work... PITA....
