need advise on grinding gears please
hi all, have a 93 b16a and somtimes in the very high revs(reaching limiter) 3rd will give a short grind before going into gear, and 5th gear with out fail always grings when doin over 70kph doesent matter what rpm im at,
im doin some work on the car soon and im replacing the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, fluid and bearings as i get the lot in a set, will this solve my problem?

no it wont solve the problem......your synchronizers need to be replaced.......the 3rd gear grind is a common issue with standard honda transmissions......you will need to take the tranny out and either replace it, or bust it apart and replace the syncros....although i would never suggest doing this unless you KNOW what you are doing.

its not cheap.......but you don't want to cheap out when it comes to your tranny......i would get them to rebuild it.....it would be more reliable than a junkyard tranny! and plus im sure they would give you a warranty with the rebuild....most junkyard tannys only give you a 90 day warranty.
