Default My EG Hatch Build

Never thought I would be making a build thread for my hatch but its come a long way since I got it in September, so here is some of my progress so far.

When I first got her

D15z1, Intake, headers, exhaust, p28 ecu

Slammed it on some Rota Slips

Wheels painted white

Dizzy Blew

Did full tune up, Dizzy, NGK wires & plugs, fuel filter and oil change

Some extended lugs

Cruising to a meet

Got into an accident Rear ended some bitch in the rain

Cruised with no hood on some nice days

Carbon fiber hood

Some snow fun

Hood pins, rain guards, cf wing, front lip, black wheels

Si Cluster and Crown royal boot and cf shift ****

And now finally decided to go LSVtec, My newest addition B16a Head!

I'm planning on boosting my Lsvtec too so if anyone has any experiences with their lsv swap or turbo lemme know. Some advice would be great

LS rods are weak as **** ! if you do turbo it upgrade the rods and rod bolts may as well do the pistons while you're at it.

You had no traction and were obviously driving too fast for the conditions, so again how is it her fault?

Those retarded blue headlights probably don't help visibility, either.

What's your power goal?

If you're looking at a higher goal then I'm thinking, then LS/V boosted will be a lot more money than just boosting a GSR.

Also props on the clean shell, I wish I could see something like this come across craigslist.

I think he should stay in an under-powered car until he learns how to drive and not haul *** everywhere.

Medics use blue lights to find blood at night and not blind other people because it's not bright enough to really illuminate very far. Being that I have only ever used the whitest lights I could with the best projector housings I could find to use them I can't say if blue lights are shitty or not...

I can say that knowing what medics use them for it seems like a stupid idea to have on a car where you want those brights lights so you don't drive recklessly and rear end someone like a ****ing ***hole.

I would be very pissed if someone jackass rear ended me in the rain.

Some people need to learn to just slow down and respect the other vehicles on the road, even if they are driving illegally, they are not chasing you down and attacking you...

I don't know about all that medical stuff - all I know about light color choice outside of cars is Army red filtered flashlights.

When it comes to automotive lights, though, if you're familiar with HID's, you're familiar with the light spectrum. Lights towards the yellow end give the best penetration and viewing distance. The closer to blue/purple/pink you get, the worse visibility gets. Blue doesn't illuminate or penetrate ****.

Now I'm not super sure how it works with headlights but in terms of the light spectrum red light is the one that diffuses most easily (hence the army's use of them) and blue light diffuses the least. Red light has a longest wave length and blue the shortest, in the visible spectrum that is. In my experience those stupid hids are the brightest things on the road. It feels like daylight when they shine their lights into my car.

White HIDs are stupidly (and dangerously, without proper projectors) bright, yes, but OP's shade of blue? Nope. No penetration, no distance.

When did i ever say it was her fault? A quote would be nice. It was clearly my fault like i said, i rear ended her. I referred to her as a bitch because she was very uncooperative and didnt want police to come idk maybe because she is illegal

Not sure if I'm going to boost it right when I drop it in or not. But I'm forsure replacing pistons, rods, and going with bigger injectors right away. If I go n/a for a bit probably around 170-200. But if I do boost it when i drop it in probably somewhere around 280 with a tune from a local shop.

And thanks man, shes not perfect has some rust but fixing all that in the build

Dude, don't listen to the damn haters on here, I'd be pissed off as well about the accident but like you said it was your fault and you took responsibility for it, the thing that's NOT your fault was her illegal status. Good luck with the build bro it'll be sweet.

Damn straight man, I want the power but not trying to blow a motor after a few thousand miles. Hard work pays off.

280? That's it?

**** then just go GSR and boost it with stock internals. If you're going to build something then shoot for 500-600 wbhp
