My Del Sol Interior Transformation "56k will die"
Well I took some more pics of my 99% finished interior. Its been a long project a little bit every weekend. I still need to install my rear panels and put on my e-brake boot and shift boot which are black suede and blue double stiching. But for the most part its done. Didn’t really get any good pictures because my camera sucks and I cant get the flash to work. If you don’t know whats been changed well heres a list off the top of my head, im sure theres more.
Momo Blue/Black Detachable Steering wheel with Key
Momo Pedals
Momo carbon fiber shift ****
Blue S2k Push button Starter
Trunk Release Button Added
Power Door Locks Added
Black Suede Upper door panels and rear panels as well as the Targa Top Panel
Blue filler line dividing the upper/lower panels
Brand new black carpet
Black 96-97 door handles
Jdm map-lights “black”
Original Oem zig-zag floor mats
black shift boot w/blue double stitching “not installed”
black e-brake shift boot w/blue stiching “not installed”
Custom black/blue seat cover’s
All hard plastic panels are black as well instead of the stock color which is tan
Indiglo guages
Car has been dyno-matted “sound deadening”
Brand new Panasonic Head Unit
Competition fronts
Competiion Tweeters
Nice amp
Im sure theres more but that seems to be the jist of it. Im gonna take some better quality pictures kinda like a photo-shoot after my car gets repainted. I have some mugen exterior goodness that gets installed while it gets the bodywork and paint done. Hopefully in the next month or so.
Edit: Everything is solid black and blue, my camera kinda makes it look grey but its black suede and carpet etc.
Stripped it out:
Wrapping the panels:
installed:
and a few exterior shots sense most probably have never seen my car, dont think ive ever posted pictures on honda-tech before

not really sure on weight, not that much, im only 140lb's as a driver so im not really worried about weight. helps keep noises down while driving and i used to have a custom sub box behind the seats but i got tired of them so i got rid of them and went for a cleaner look

thanks, i went with the oem zig zag mats because they are classic oem mats, i bought them brand new recently for a killer price, considering they were dis-continued like over a year ago and really hard to find in decent condition "mine were still in the oem box"
i think i may get some black mats with blue edging like my seats and so fourth but for now the zig zags will do
thanks

You know what would look SO good?
Paint the valve cover the same blue as your car and chrome the wire cover.

hehe, ive tried blue valve cover before but ended up going back to krinkle red. Ill probably paint the valve cover a blue to match my car once i get my car repainted. Im getting my car painted the 2005 lotus elise blue with a mugen front bumper, mugen spoiler, and new headlights

nice job on the panels. you need more dynamat though, you are supposed to cover completly and overlap the dynamat layers.
people who think it adds weight and is not worth it are very wrong. i would rather sit in my car that is almost completly sound proof and where i do not hear any road noise or anything than worry about 25lbs

Red compliments blue, but it's not my car so whatever.

i hear you on the dynamat thing, i was gonna cover it more complete but at the time i was running low on money and it still sound deadend it quite a bit. Its not nearly as loud as my brothers del sols interior and my motor/exhaust makes alot more noise
its deadend enough for my need's but yea, usually people layer it and cover every inch

that is a pretty tastefull way to do the interior and bring in a touch of the outside. Although I dont care for the OEM mats, I like that you took the time to do piping for the accent insted of just spraying your vents and random plastic pieces blue.
Where did you get the suede from? I have actually been looking for some in red so I can do my arm rest and door pannels to match my recaros.
It definately looks great though, nice wheels too.

actually Orange would be the complimentary color of blue. But nice try.

I said it compliments it, not that it's a complimentary color, tertiary or anything else. Either try harder or don't try at all.

got the suede on close-out price at a local fabric store, your best bet is to just hit up all the local fabric places and see what they have
ive been thinking of getting a second set of mats, the mats i was thinking about getting are solid black with blue piping around the edge and says del sol on the bottom right of it in blue stiching. Basically just solid black with blue piping edging to match my seat's.

thanks, I have been looking, but to luck.
I just dont care for sol mats, but if you like em, rock em. Blue mats with piping might look good... but it could be overkill. It depends on how much your want to accent.
