My 92 EG6 Project
Hello everyone, this is my first civic project and I'm quite new to the scene. This post is mostly to keep track of my progress and receive feedback and help/tips.
First off, I bought this EG6 off a beard neck who probably still lived in his parents basement for $1,700. He originally wanted $3,500 but I talked him down to $1,700. The bad things with it that I've found so far: It squeaks real bad when I turn, the engine rattles when in idle, slow drip from the oil pan, the header is caved in, and two of the header bolts are broken off.
From what I could gather the engine is actually just a stock B16A2, So its possible that the guy lied about the motor swap. Is there a way to confirm that the engine is stock or has been swapped?
Now it looks like the guy lied about 90% of the parts on this car, from what I can tell the ecu is not chipped I pulled it apart and found that there was no chip where there should be if it were chipped (ill get a photo of that soon), it has the stock transmission (found that out when i had to replace the speed sensor), but its geared really aggressively, not sure why (could be how it's supposed to be I'm not sure). I haven't done a compression test or taken the top end apart to see if it has those pistons yet.
Now what i plan on doing is getting the infamous Koni Yellow and Ground Control setup, new header, change the exterior and interior color to midnight blue, racing buckets, some nice 15" rims (17"s are just crazy), new exhaust, front and rear bumper, headlights, steering wheel, GT wing (cause why not haha), general engine tune and clean, and anything else that I can find that would be cool or beneficial to do.
Unfortunately, when i tried replacing the springs with the "skunk 2 adjustable coilover sleeves" (in reality they were $50 ebay ones) the front right strut broke (I'll snap a picture of it tomorrow along with a picture of the ECU). So until i have the money for the Koni Yellow/Ground Control setup the EG6 is out of commission, and all work is halted until I can drive it to the shop. For now here are more pictures of the car.
If you'd like some other photos of it just let me know and I'll post them.

pr3-3 is 1st gen b16 head. still a good head though. he lied to you or he was lied to.
your ecu is not chipped. bottom pic to the left shows its never been soldered in.

Did Integra Type R's even have an automatic transmission option? That doesn't make any sense at all, the dude who sold it to OP sounds like a real douche canoe.

Re: My 92 EG6 Project
There is no automatic type R transmission. A "multi layered head gasket" doesn't just magically give you more compression. The ECU isn't chipped. Basically, half of what the seller said, is a complete lie. OP has already bought the car, though, so it's time to move past that and unfuck this ****.

1) That is a B16 cylinder head, and the block is a B16 something. the angle of the pic couldn't let me see the whole thing. So the guy lied and possibly needs a *** whooping.
2) Take a picture of the side of the ECU of the sticker, on it will show what type of ECU it is for example: P28, and P13. I think it says P30 but I cant tell from the pic.
3) Honda/Acura never made a Type R Automatic transmission for what I seen. I'm sure someone else can answer that for you.
If you like bag's of rice this is the car for you. But if you don't well... This will be a interesting and expensive project to convert it back to "clean". Sorry to be the barrier of bad news. Good luck with what you want to do.

Re: My 92 EG6 Project
yeah the guy who I bought it from obviously knew nothing about cars. Anyways, I'm not sure if this will help settle the dispute of what the head could be. I found this stamped on the left side of the head.

Re: My 92 EG6 Project
thats the headgasket. irrelevant. its just a gasket.
but the head. most likely b16 pr3-3. you will need to check the cams. on the end of the cams there are markings and designs to tell the difference

Sorry to tell you but you bought a rice bucket. A stock v6 accord would run circles around that thing all day.
I'd contact the seller and ask for a return and if they refuse I'd definitely consider pressing charges as you were sold something and lied to about its condition etc.
You should be able to get your money back.

Re: My 92 EG6 Project
It was only $1700 and I bought it knowing it was gonna be quite a bit of work to get it nice again, I like the car and its super unique in my area so I think its a good purchase. Anyways, I should be ordering the Koni yellows and GC springs next week so progress can start on the car soon. Does anyone know the best place to buy Koni yellows and GC springs that ships to Canada?

Re: My 92 EG6 Project
Like I said, I have to wait till next week to order the suspension for the car before I can do the major things.
That is just over 12 hours of driving haha. I'll have to pass on that; however, I found a place that will ship to my place anyways.
