Great build now lets get some performance out of it. Not a bad job on paint/prep for your first time. They say your finish is in the prep. Just learn what did what and you'll benefit from it. No better way of learning.

Re: morbius18's Del Sol build
Last night I finished up the fabric covering of the center gray crap.
This morning, I wet sanded the car and found that I had a few bubbles on the rear plastic piece above the quarter panel. I called the paint guy and he said that it was a chemical reaction between the plastic, old primer/paint and the new primer, and that I should sand it completely down and reprime.
After that was done, I washed her off.

wat kind of fabric you use to cover it up thinking about doing that to mine and were you get the fabric

Nice Build dude! I'm currently building my GF's 96 Del Sol. I wish I could do body work and paint.. I may just replace the trunk and hood with CF units as it looks good and is easier.

Fantastic build so far man! Fortunate that you found such a long span of free time as well as having the funding to support such a project. I'm extremely jealous.
Kudos on attacking alot of aspects that you'd never tried before (like the paint). You'll be building your own car from the ground up before you know it. Sorry your PO half-assed so much of the car. Seems to be a common fate with Sols.
I would recommend a subframe brace if you're gonna be running such a large rear sway bar. Anything over 14mm is sketchy for the structural integrity back there.
Keep up the amazing work.

Re: morbius18's Del Sol build
Sorry for no updates in a while. I finally got moved back to Tennessee and have been busy lately. The other day in the parking lot of Auto Zone the driver lower ball joint stripped sheared off the cotter pin and my Lower control arm fell off the tire. I fixed it in the rain in the parking lot, but the tire got pushed into the fender and into the hood. It also broke the bumper attachment. I took the opportunity to buy a jdm front end from hmotorsonline.com and started on a wire tuck. I moved the battery to the trunk the fuze box under the dash and rerouted all the wires through the fenders. I also installed my custom harness I made. I don't have pics of the process, just the end. I also got a gasket kit, some Sir2 cams, Ctr crank pulley and new timing belt.

Pics of the front end installed. I had to rewire the USDM turn lights to function like the JDM ones (only illuminate on turn) and wire the sidemarkers the proper way.

I ended up trading the Toyo front tires when I bought all 4 new for a megan 4-1 header. I finally got around to installing it.

Skunk2 low profile valve cover washer kit. You can also see the stainless clutch line I did for the tuck.

wow man, very impressed with your build. you really turned this car around. From the start i was like 'Christ this should be interesting lol' and the more i read the more impressed i got. Not a big fan of bonda use, but you used it for what its meant for (small holes and small dent filler, Not big gapping honda rust holes). also Funny how your cats are in pics, cause everytime i order parts and they come i take pics and both my cars always love to be in the picture somehow.I'm liking your choice of headlights and not going with the ebay so called 'jdm' and the s2k seats. This is a true DIY build. Anyway, keep up the good work. its coming together really nice.

I think you are confusing the size of the front sway bars with the back one. Its from a 2000 GSR, same size as OEM del sol VTEC.
