MAJOR PROBLEM!!! Need H-T's help please!
My friend has a 95 civic hatch. The car is stock and has the stock motor in it.
Basically we changed the head gasket this weekend. After the head gasket change, the car drove fine from my house back to his house (about 1km). He parked it there for the night and took it this morning to go to work. The car started fine and he drove about 10km before the car stalled at a light and wouldn't start.
Things I noticed:
-I can here the main relay click when I put the key in the start position
-the radio works inside the car as do all of the lights
-When I turn the key to start, there is no power to the starter
-the engine does not turn over
-the fuel pump does not prime
-I tried push starting the car, and it never comes close to catching (obviously because there is no fuel)
Things I checked:
-All of the fuses look to be fine. The ECU fuse looked to be fine but I changed it anyways and it didnt change anything
-I can hear the main relay click, so I'm assuming it's ok (is this correct....can it still be shot???)
-I checked all of the grounds and they are all fine
-I checked the wires leading to the fuse box and they are also fine
Then I came in here and made a thread. I was going to go back outside to double check everything, but before I tried to start the car again....All of a sudden, the starter solenoid was popping out, and the fuel pump was priming. I decided to try and push start the car, and it worked. The car turned on and ran 100%. I turned the car off to see if it would start again, and when I turned the key to the start position it primmed but wouldn't crank and when i let go of cranking (let the key fall to the accesories position) there was a weird buzzing noise coming from the fuse box area....
PLEASE HELP I NEED TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM ASAP!!!!
thanks honda-tech

I had a similar problem when I changed out my clutch and for some reason the starter didnt get a signal. You may have ignition problems...the way I fixed it? I friggen beat hard underneath the steering colum cover(where the ignition switch is located)...never had any problems since starting (one wierd *** way to fix it but it appearently worked)

Re: MAJOR PROBLEM!!! Need H-T's help please!
no check engine light...
I would be extremely surprised if it was the ECU because of the fact that the buzzing noise is coming from the drivers side under the dash and because it started working again...
I'll double check the thermostat ground wire.
This is really weird. I'm going to try to pick up a Main Relay at the scrap yard tomorrow to see if that works....but keep throwing me ideas!
