Re: Is MACCO a good painter?
just buy a paint gun and practice. use water instead of paint in the gun, spray it on the car, metal, cardboard, etc to get the pattern and the timing down... then paint the car yourself...
you're doing all the prep, paint only is 1 more step...

Somone a while back did a rattle can paint job on their car. Wet sanded it and clear coated it. Cost them under $100 I think and was probably just as good as any maaco paint job.

Re: Is MACCO a good painter?
Maaco has different standards of paints - from a quick paint over everything scraches and dents with paint that may last a couple of years to total car repair with paint that will last alot longer. I believe they are in business to do the quick paint jobs and move on. They use a lot of aftermarket panels that not always line up. Shop around and get different esimates. Also check out past work at the shops.

I got my hatch resprayed white and it came out good..u just have to remove and install ur own stuff (i.e. side moldings, weather strips, etc if u want a good job) And make sure u talk to them and tell them what u want and they will do it..if they finish and theres streaks or globs or anything point it out and they have to fix it for free...
