Hey, I'll be out in Phoenix in 3 weeks, We'll have to meet up.

You can show me a good place to get an Alarm installed. I heard theft is crazy the further west you get.

Where is the heat exchanger for the AC? From the pics, it doesn't look like it is in the normal location beside your radiator.

too reply to some of the post above.... I've tried redline water wetter, but again no air flow so i didnt see a differance. and the whole thing about taking the thermostat out i heard it would not help, the coolant would be moving to fast to cool off in the radiator from what I’ve been told. And my a/c condenser has a slimline fan on it
Smaller intercooler? I’ve seen the fmic at Arizona Forced Induction and mines looks like a tiny bitch compared the any of there’s.

Drag fmic

When I lived down there I drilled like five holes around my thermostat so that some coolant could flow through it. Now even when I got to vegas or back down there I have no cooling issues. I also hardwired my fan so it was always on as well.

removing the thermostat will keep the motor cooler longer (longer warm up time) but under extreme conditions (high heat high load) it will make it heat up higher. the coolant doesnt draw the heat from around the cylinders and the combustion chamber because it moves across them too quickly, as well as not staying in the radiator long enough to exhange it after it has drawn it from the motor. ITS A BAD IDEA.

Not bad i guess. 50° diff is pretty awesome, at the expense of your core support, but I've heard of people cutting that thing just for weight.

Personally, I'd just run a little metal wedge in front of the core support so the air doesn't hit a flat core support, causing drag. It would probably cool the car just as well if you cut the bumper and did that.

Then throw a black mesh grill over it and most people might not even notice you cut it at all.

I would add a small pusher fan infront of the radiator that should help alot. also getting a oil cooler would help alot in bringing engine temps down... donot remove your thermostat it will cause to many problems get a lower temp one..

I have a slim line fan 2000cfm and it jumped to stay on the whole time because where the switch would go I have a mechanical water temp gauge sensor. I don’t know why people are so freaked out that I cut a small part of the core out, I’ve seen civic that have been in front end collisions and with and without a core support they both where fubar. The civic is meant the crumble to absorb the impact in the event of an accident.

Im glad I don't have to put up with the desert temps, but Im not sure I would have cut holes in my bumper either...good luck finding a cooler solution!

making holes causes minimal loss of integrity. specially since the holes are round and dropping your temperature that much seemed to have worked well. I would wire your fan to where its on whenever car is on (I can show you a relay schematic to make it safer in the electrical load).
I would also put washers on the hood so its makes a "cowl" effect to help reduce under hood heat.

atleast its a better idea that just removing the entire from bumber supports and everything. but hey, just dont crash the car and you should be fine. same thing for those with carbonfiber hoods and fiberglass hoods...they are weaker than stock but people do it anyways. im sure he knows what risks he is taking and perhaps knows to be alittle more cautious

The problem with eg civics is there is no front grill so no extra air can really enter besides the bumper. I also have a boosted ej1 and mine likes to overheat in that type of weather too. Im gonna try to vent my hood to let some heat out, put som exhaust wrap on my downpipe and manifold plus maybe a heat shield blocking the turbo from the radiator. Also the fan switch to always turn it on would be great when ur at a light or traffic when no air is moving.

I would order a Jackson racing 160 deg. thermostat .. they are like 6 bucks on the jackson site

Also 1 inch spacers under your hood hinges to prop the hood up will also drop temps.. we did some logs on crome and lost almost 20 deg. intake temps by doing that on a turbo car
